Article Suggestion

I don't know if this would be allowed by Steve, but many people have mentioned that they have purchased some of the d20 material and convert into Hero. Some have mentioned that it is not difficult to do. I would LOVE to have the conversion ideas people have written into a DH article for the rest of us.

Anyone willing to try this...?

I'm sorry, but we're not going to publish any conversion articles. They either require compliance with WOTC's OGL terms, or obtaining the permission of the game's creator, neither of which we're willing to do.

Okay, I do understand... Thank you very much for your quick response. I am not very familiar with all the rules and protocols of the gaming industry, and thought that it might not be allowed, but thought I would throw out the idea in case it was something that could be done.

Some companies are OK about that sort of thing, but many are not. It depends on a whole bunch of factors and can become a rather tricky area.

However, there are several sites that have posted D20 to Hero type stuff for free access. I am working on just such a conversion and will publish my notes to a web site ... someday! While not suitable for digital hero, I believe there is sufficient interest for some type of media. I am posting this from school so I unfortunately don't have any of my D20 conversion URLs available right now, perhaps I can post some later.

If you could post some of those URLs, that would be GREAT!!

I can understand Steve's reluctance to have Hero offer an official conversion, but at the same time if fans could offer some then it would help some of us move from d20 to Hero (especially with FH just around the corner). It could also help some of use some of the d20 source materials that are out there when there is not official hero materials available.

Why kind of Fantasy Hero articles are people interested in? I have submitted on article and am interested in doing others. I am open to suggestions...

I can think of a few that might be of interest...

1. Ideas for the creation of a nation/kingdom. I know this has been talked about in other threads, but an article that offered a template system for nation building would be very beneficial (it would also have uses for a Star Hero game).

2. A game called Dragonstar is growing in popularity in our area. Basically, it is a Fantasy meets Science Fiction game. I believe that d20 Urban Arcana attempts to do this as well. An article that discusses some ideas on how to bring the two genres together.. or to use FH as a world in a Sci Fi universe (magic VS Technology, for example, could be a good article... hwo they would interact).

3. Any articles that introduce a nation... its history, people, government type, culture, etc, is always helpful. This is perhaps especially true if the people are of a new race.

Better to wait until FH is out and people have had time to absorb it. After that, anything not covered in sufficient depth will be a good candidate for FH.
