Those are fantastic! I like the clean look. I would not get too crazy with the equipment, perhaps only a couple signature items that the character favors.

Wade McCode: Heh... Yeah, bad guys keep trying to kill us, but we keep surviving and collecting their weapons... It's a hobby

That's what I was thinking. Another option is to put in all the Transport and Weapon Familiarities into a separate box above the portrait.

Progress Report: Phase 1 map is functionally complete. I am going to move on to getting Phase 2 map functionally complete. Then I have a few tokens to build (stats and macros - image already there). Once there, I can go "decorate" both maps if I have time. The important part is getting everything "functional" before "pretty" though.

Drawing with MapTool presents a certain series of challenges. For some things ( a couple of hatches) I just had to go download some objects from RPGMapShare. I just could not get the detail right otherwise. One of the interesting things about MapTool is the ability to draw huge area maps with the built in editor. I really wish the default Objects, Tokens and Textures had more choices to it though. As it stands, MapTool is pretty much geared for Fantasy gaming and not so much Science Fiction gaming.

I'll have to do something about that someday.

Easy. Under the File menu is an option to Add to Resources Library or something like that. It lets you designate folders that store maps, tokens, campaign files, and textures in.

    Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign

Playing with vision and light. Boy is this going to be fun.

Right now I have the basic vision modes except that I made them a Cone instead of a Radius. I figure 360 degree sensing can get you a radius. That puts us in line with the HERO rules too. Default senses are

    • Night Vision at 120 degree cone. I put the range at 60, which is arbitrary but needed to define the vision mode as being able to see in the dark.
    • Low Light Vision at 120 degree cone. This has a multiplier, which means that any light source the character comes into contact with is doubled.
    • Normal Vision at 120 degree cone. Can't see in the dark at all.

I also added two basic Light Sources; Spotlight and Lamp. Right now they are for testing purposes so the numbers are rather arbitrary. The Spotlight has a range of 10m and an arc of 20/30. The 20 is the bright part of the light and extends out to 5m. The 30 degree arc is the bleed off from the light and extends out to the 10m mark. I realize those numbers are probably a little weak so I will be changing them. The lamp has a radius of 5m.

Now the Low Light gives Ta'Rang some advantages. For the two light sources listed as is, he would be able to have clear vision for 40m and dim vision for 60m with the Spotlight and the Lamp would illuminate a 10m radius for him. SO there you have it.

Found something interesting out too. Unless your token can "see" another token (within sight range, facing target, not blocked by VBL or Fog of War) then it cannot select that other token as a target in the macros. Very cool.

And now, just coming off of a graveyard, I need sleep. I will do my utmost best to have the whole mapping process done by this evening's game, but I need sleep for the moment. I just love how the whole package is starting to assemble. There can be some creepifying things done with MapTool vision blocking, vision and light. Imagine moving yourself around a corner and your vision exposes something waiting. Or you hear footsteps creeping up on you and change facing to see something that wasn't there before. I love this program.
