    Question Power/Weapons/Equipment

I'm running a Star*Hero game right now and I'm using Hero Designer to create villains and other baddies. I'm deploying a mostly low power/high equipment genre. I ran into the problem when creating weapons with Energy Blast. My main villain who is really a good guy cop. I selected Energy Blast and began to throw in modifiers creating a Riot shotgun like the one from "Minority Report." I selecting two hands, beam, and real weapon as my limitations, finished. Then I started making a standard police force and thier weapons under the template "competent normal" and began to build a police standard energy pistol, only I couldn't select two-handed, beam, and Real Weapon as limitations anymore? Is this a glich or am I missing something, I created both under equipment

P.S. I created the good guy cop under the template "standard hero."

Currently "Required Hands", "STR Minimum" and the other "weapon" limitations are only available on the heroic-level templates.

I'm talking with Steve about whether they should be made available on all templates or not....depending on his decision, they may be in the next update.

It seems that at a minimum they should be on heroic and lower templates. I can understand not putting them on superheroic.

Except there are some examples in products *cough*millennium city*cough* of supers with the real weapon limitations, along with the Strength Minimum.

So, my personal feeling is that they should be available in all templates.

Well, if the Super is using a Real weapon and wants to suffer the limitation, I see no reason not to allow it.

The only argument I see is when a really strong Super wants to fire his shotgun one handed... the answer: Then you shouldn't hand bought it with the limitation 'Two Hands' you donut!

STR mins I would question unless the game was using NCM, then I'd probably allow it.

    Well nuts!

Thanks for answering my question guys, I guess I'm going to have to deal with it for now, thank you again...

With the next upgrade the option of having those limitation would be nice but rules are rules and I can always type them in!

I don't have much of a problem with Real Weapon either but some Super with his Str of 20 is carrying a couple of .50 Desert Eagles with a Str Min of 15 along with it.

Makes sense for buying the weapon for non-supers campaigns, but still...

Hell, I'm just waiting for the Silver Avenger to start carrying the "Doommaster 3000" Str Min of 30 megacannon.

Sigh. I'll stop now before I start rambling.

I see that Required Hands and Real Weapon are available in the Superheroic template, but not STR minimum. Was this the final and irrevocable design decision?

It was the decision by Steve....the thinking being that in most superheroic level campaigns, STR minimum is not really limiting at all.
