    Kilowog

Anyone seen/done a writeup? I've checked the usual suspects like the Great Net Book of Real Heroes.

Seems to me all the Lanterns are basically the same, with just some nuances by race and personality.

You might be better off just coming up w/ a Lantern Package with all the common stuff and then just apply that and tweak to suit. More reusable.

There are a couple of good GL writeups (both high and medium powered) on Surbrooks site:

Kilowog also had an unusually robust physiology. He was difficult to attack with chemical or biological weapons because he was "so simple there's less to mess up."
He also had extremely good gadgeteering skills and was one of the better GL's in terms of fighting skills.

    Re: Kilowog

Kilowog has a unique power ring now, I believe. Not sure what makes it so special though, I just remember being told about it...

and after a quick look around on the net:

According to the 2005 miniseries Green Lantern: Rebirth, Kilowog's ring is the only one that Hal Jordan knows of that makes a sound when being used. It is also the only one that can communicate with all Green Lanterns at the same time

Also remember, Kilowog will try to deal with the problem without using the ring if at all possible. He is a medium level Brick, as well as a GL

The additions are because (I think) he is the head trainer/Drill instructor for all the new recruits.
You know how you play with a cat by dangling a peice of sting within his grasp, and then pull it away as he grabs for it? If the string isn't exciting and tempting the cat won't grab. But if you pull away early too many times and deny him too often, the cat gives up in frustration. The skill is in finding the sweet spot between those extremes where its fun for you and the cat.

    That's what a GM's job is.

    And a high level gadgeteer.
Professor Plum: Wait a minute. So who did I kill?
    Wadsworth: My butler.

    Re: Kilowog

Thanks everyone. Kilowog seems different from your average GL to me, because of his Brick/Gadgeteer qualities, so I was looking to see if anyone has attempted to write up that combination of archetypes with a Power Ring. It seems like the answer is no, but thanks for your input anyway!

    Re: Kilowog

Keep in mind that Kilowog has been retconned several times. In his original appearance he was not a trainer, and in fact was a rather obscure Green Lantern. None of the series regulars had ever heard of him. I can't remember was continuity-shattering event made him into the guy who trained Hall Jordan.

    Re: Kilowog

I loved it when he and Guy used to fight just for fun. Even without the ring, he gave Guy a good battle. IIRC, Guy actually trusted Kilowog enough to lend him his ring, too.
