[Help Wanted] Fan Page for Slayers HERO
Guys, I actually need some help on this, and I'm not sure how to ask for it without stepping on some toes.
I am finally getting my fanwork page together, and I am planning to include as part of it a guide to using HERO to roleplay in the Slayers universe -- or, more specifically, the universe of my continuation series Slayers Inheritance. This means that not only will I be wanting to write up the main cast of the series somewhat older and with a different power set, but I will also be writing up some of their children.
I figured I could get the most signficant rules material from Fantasy HERO (with an ungodly Spell Multiplier to reflect just how potent and omnipresent magic is) but there are still a few rules questions I would like advice on as i do these characters up in HD:
1. Wrapping my brain around Multiform has always been a challenge to me. I'm going to have to figure out how to write up a Golden Dragon and Ancient Dragon template with enough room in Multiform that their human forms are as formidable as they need to be to relfect what happens in the novella.
2. I need to get my hands on 5e writeups of the most important Slayers spells (Dragon Slave, Rah Tilt, etc.) so that I can plug them right in without too much difficulty. Doing it myself is possible, but it would be a lot of extra work and i can always tweak once given the basics. (And no, I don't have a copy of reality Storm on hand at the moment; if I did I would seriously think about doing at least some conversions from Tri-Stat).
3. I need to figure out where there is a martial Arts package that best fits the sword style used by Gourry Gabriev. Gourry's role in the Inheritance series is more that of a mentor than a front-line combatant most of the time -- in fact, i think he went through the whole book without hitting anyone with his sword once, and at one point refused to even draw the Blast Blade (the Sword of Light's supernaturally sharp successor weapon) because he dared not risk killing his adversary. (Actually, the entire series challenges the "dumb-as-a-sack-of-hammers" view of Gourry, as I tend to portray him as more 'heart-smart' than "head-smart" anyway.) Anyway, it is well-established that he is among the best swordsmen in the world, if not the very best, so he is obviously both skilled and disciplined.
In any event, this is a call for assistance and thoughts on the subject. If you like, I will keep you posted on my progress.
6th Edition is for entertainment purposes only.
