Port Angeles. Not technically on the Sound, but on the Strait.

Seattle, a block inside the north city limit.

There are at least 3 others I know about also. But I don't want to add someone to the list unless they say it's OK. Some people just don't like being added to "lists", or don't like not being ask.

They were under the great stealth cloak of the NW

Of everywhere I have ever been, the Puget Sound area (and near by areas) is the most hidden gamer area I have seen. Most gamers are very tight groups that only game with the same group, sometimes for over 10 years. New players very seldom "fit in" lacking the 5-10 years of in jokes and "group think" needed. What few stores are out there don't have a coherent way for "role" players to hook up with other "role" players and are generally overrun with what I term as "munchkins". I have two FLGS within an easy drive, and though I try to give them business I can't (note the choice of word) play there. Both store only allow ONE game at a time. Even though they have the room. I have run a few one shots when I can manage to get a few players all there at the same time. But most drift (run) away when the munchkins roll in.
Which is something you cant really avoid in the public forum of a FLGS.

Last week I overheard one munchkin complaining that the GM of his RoboTech game was being unfair. His character should have been able to just shrug off the damage instead of being severely hurt. After all he only took 13 direct hits from the Main Guns of the 13 SDF's that fired on him! RUN AWAY

I live over in the Redmond area.

And Spence, you are completely correct when you talk about the tight groups up here in Seattle. Our current group is a young one at only about 1 to 1.5 years old. We were looking for one or two more people but have pretty much given up at finding someone. We are pretty much an inexperienced group and I think that we scare people off because of that.

We are going to be at Conquest NW and will look for more people there. I also look forward to some of the games that the people here have talked about running.

Good to hear from you again. We never managed to meet face to face. Don't get me wrong here. There is a vast difference between "inexperienced" with a system and being a "munchkin".

If possible I like to see if we can coordinate a get together of Hero Gamers at the con. Maybe over dinner or breakfast. Get some face time and maybe even set up some gaming after the con. Or just to swap stories and have a beer.

Re: Puget Sound Hero Gamers Roll Call

My group was very tight and had a decade + history, but we also had a pretty good record integrating "role" players (hero newbies, usually) when we were able to find them. You're right about the problem of finding them, however. The normal venues are problematic from a recruiting perspective, but it can be done if you are very clear about expectations up front. I was lucky in that I had a few (original) group members who would hang out at gaming stores in addition to our game, and acted as talent scouts when we had an opening. You made me laugh with introspection, though. Seattle role playing groups, especially the hero ones, do operate like mystery cults / secret societies.

    Mystery Cult. Secret Society

That is the perfect description! Gotta love it

Sounds good to me. There were a couple of places (last looked a couple of years ago) in the Galleria mini-mall area (which is about a 6 or 7 block walk) for drinks and food.
