    Keller, TX - DFW

A friend of mine is looking for HERO players in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Are there any groups out there I could aim her towards?

I live in Grand Prairie, by I-30, which is close to DFW. My "current group" of two other people has been on haitus for over a year.

    Just a few qualifications:
    • I have a one-year-old son so I can no longer stay out late or "party every weekend" so-to-speak
    • The next three to four weekends I'm already busy with family affairs (two birthdays and a wedding)
    • One of the 'current group' members is a wiccan who always managed to throw jibes at Christianity during sessions; I've had enough of that.
    • I like puns and corny jokes

We have a month of busy-ness ahead of us, but I'd be interested.

I live in Keller and am DYING to get back into playing of GMing Champions! My schedule is prettyy flexible so I can play after work or on the weekends. I'm a teacher this summer I'll be VERY available to game! I've been playing Champions since the time the game was only available in 3 paperback note-book sized books! I'm a LONG TIME fan of the Hero system and like heroic games that are "graphic novel" or "manga like" in flavor. A sense of humor is always a plus!

There hasn't been any communication on it, but unfortunately, I'll need to put a hold on committing right now. My wife is looking to teach elsewhere, so we may end up moving to the Lewisville/Coppell area, Keller, or Irving.

Yes the game is still on if we can get people.
I'd be willing to go elsewhere to play if my Keller home isn't "central" enough for the group.
I'm a teacher also and am now off for the summer (or at least I will be starting next week) and am looking for something that I can still be a part of once school goes back in session in August.
Was interested in running a 4-color "marvel/DC style" game or joining one already in existance.
    Ank takers?

Good luck finding Players in DFW. I have been here looking for nearly 2 years and have about resolved to going back to Oklahoma Every other weekend to play.
I live North of McKinney right now but commute in to Dallas for work. I will be moving once I get my next assignment but right now it is either here or in Austin so I am holding off until it is decided...
It is surprising that a city as large as Dallas has few gamers and no conventions worth a flip.

I have found scores of roleplaying games and groups around the metroplex over the years, but I have very seldom found Hero gamers in the area. Right now, I am playing in two Hero games (one western and one fantasy) but we don't have any open spots I'm afraid.

If we have any openings, I'll certainly post them here. Good luck!

Heh, my wife is a teacher and after 10 years, she's moving not only to a different school, but to a different district. We are looking for a place to live in either Lewisville or Coppell and will need to make a decision by August, so unfortunately that's taking priority right now (which really stinks, because summer time is a fun time ).

Are you guys still taking player? I have been down in the dallas area since 11/05 coming from the okc area where I was in a regular hero system campaign for several years. I like others in this thread go all the way back to the champions box set way back in the 80's(not real old, just started early). If still taking players(and even if not) drop me a message.

    Re: Keller, TX - DFW

Sorry about my delay, I've been away from the boards for a month or so. I'm somewhat still interested, though I'm looking for a job. (Go figure if it's not one thing it's another.) I'm sort of on the fence of "Do I want to continue playing?" and "When should I buy my next book?" I've got several hundred dollars worth of HERO/Champions stuff, but we're in a big debt hole that I want to get us out of before A) it gets worse and to the point of missing/skipping bills; and B) we get a house.

So, the long and short of it is: give me about a week for a better answer.
