I've applied to run two games, one a sort of Champions game playing as the mystic high school protectors of San Angelo (the mythical one in California, not the Texas one) and the other a silly Champions game in New Atlantis, formerly San Francisco. I also hope to get Green Lantern in my neverending quest to have played the entire Justice League!

Aquaman will likely be taken, durn it.

That sounds way fun. I'll have to see if I can get into that one. Any room for a cameo guest appearance by Crackerjack? dw

Since Quarrel will be there, Crackerjack will have to butt his way in, of course.

As my BayCon plans have just fallen through, I'll probably stop by KublaCon. Especially since it is just about 15 mins from home.

A question for others running games a KublaCon this year...

Are you concerned about the "two-games-in-a-suite" setup they're going to be using? Although I haven't been to the hotel, and I haven't seen the actual setup, I'm a bit worried about it. Challenge of the Superfriends can be a bit on the boisterous side (he understated) and I'm afraid we're going to have games shouting over each other.

I don't usually play in Open Gaming rooms because the noise level really bothers me. I'm concerned that the setup at Kubla this year may bring that into the regular convention games. Am I alone in this?

Kubla Con has operated this way in the past

At least the last two times I had attended, even when it was called something else. For the most part, it tends to work. Players tend to keep the noise level down, allowing for the occasional loud remark from time to time.

I probably won't be going due to the high price of hotel rooms at the con. It's to bad, I might have got to kick butt with something besides Samurai this time.

Especially since I understand the rules now. =)

    Wink

Well at DunDraCon I think I proved that even the token Asian character can kick butt! Especially when the villians involved are Toyman, Scarecrow, and the Riddler.

I proved that by harnassing the immense powers of the wind and by calling on your ancestors, that you too could whalop on a group of guys that look like a bunch of string beans tied together. Though I must say my favorite part was knocking Sinestro, Bizarro, Solamon Grundie, Giganta, and Cheetah(I think) on their collective butts.

Though it still confuses me why exactly Superman had to go and destory the billion dollar radio telescope. Bah... Aliens... whatcha gonna do?

    DundraCon Challenge of the Superfriends

I save character sheets like any good pack rat...the fight went so well I never got to use all my hawkman quotes before attacking ...still some jotted down on it I''ll share.

Prepare to be the prey of the hawk!

I fly like a hawk, but sting like a bee!

This bird does more than leave dropping on your car!

and the ones I did get to use

You will soon be seeing HAWKS whirling about your head!

Hawkman has the power of flight...and soon so will you < >!

I love Dereks little comments too I tried to keep them in mind while roleplaying "Superfriends Hawkman" because like he mentioned he would do silly things like climb a ladder instead of fly... such sillyness.

So I was sure to throw in the "Can I get a ride?" every once in a while.
