There is information in this months issue of GameInformer. Looks like it will be for the X-Box 360 and the PC. It will have classes but this does not limit your power choices, also their are disadvantages. It appears that it will not force you to group and that it will be a full world not just one city. Very cool comic shader graphics. Looks to be something different than current MMOs. Mentions the pen and paper game. Calls Bricks Tanks in the article, have to teach them the correct lingo.

I've played enough Diablo II and Dungeon Siege I and II to know what they are like. I just have neither had the time nor monthly budget to commit to such an endeaver. But in 2009 the money issue will be mostly resolved. Time is another matter entirely thus why I won't be a heavy player.

I wouldn't say MMOs these days really have much in common with Diablo II. You go around and fight things, yes, but that's where the similarity ends.

Its basically Diablo II crossed with what some call a MUD. You need rare items, going out in groups is better than solo, and you need to spend countless hours to get from A to B.

Well, I don't want to get into a whole "thing" here, but I feel I get a very different play experience from City of Heroes than I do from Diablo II. Maybe it's the first-person (or close third-person) perspective, or the customizability, or the lack of an invisible grid, or the absence of "gear" to be won or lost -- I dunno. And I'm not saying that to be snarky -- I realize that both games are, in essence, going around and fighting things -- but when I think about what makes Diablo II feel so old and restrictive compared to CoH, that's what I come up with. I just played CoH last night for the first time in months, and at no point was I reminded of my many hours spent playing Diablo II.

So the prospect of a game with even more customizability, not only in terms of my character's appearance but also in terms of actual plot (coming up with my own nemesis sounds pretty sweet), makes that gap even wider for me, and thus more attractive.
