Here's my 2nd attempt at Dolphin Rider. I decided to go with a teen-age looking type model because Dolphin Rider is a 150 point Mystic, so I felt that model better represented her. Any ways here is a newer version of Dolphin Rider.

    Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine

    Helsdottir

The 2nd image is one I did on my own. Here's some her background. I never did around to finishing the character, nor writing a sheet for her.

    Background
Claudia laid back in the bathtub, a glass of wine in one hand, and the shard in the other. She did her best to forget, to forget about Johan. Johan Erickson who had been her best friend, her lover, her partner, in the study of Norse mythology, and who was the man who destroyed her life. His smiling face swam in front of her like a dear memory, a poisoned memory. Claudia took another gulp of wine to purge the memory. The heat from the water relaxed Claudia, as if anything could.

Claudia put down the wine glass on the edge of the tub, not really caring if the wine spilled or not. Over the past few days it was growing harder and harder to care about anything. Claudia stared intently at the shard. It had once been part of a sword. No one in the research group could date the metal, let alone identify its composition. The shard wasn't iron, or any other metal as far as they could tell. Strange runes, possibly Nordic, possibly something unknown, ran up and down both sides of the shard. For all the strangeness of the shard, Claudia thought it was beautiful. Johan had called it the find of the century. Claudia couldn't but grimace at that memory. Another gulp of wine helped with that.

Claudia, along with Johan, were students of Norse studies at the University of Reykjavik, under Professor Olaf Siguardsson, a noted expert in the field. The lovers had been the professors' primary researchers. It was Johan who discovered the existence of a hitherto unknown temple dedicated to an equally unknown Norse deity far out in the wilds of Iceland. Claudia had made mad passionate love to Johan that night when he had shown her the ancient seal skins that told of the temple. Another gulp of wine. Hmm. The glass was getting empty. Easily put right.

The trip to the temple was difficult; Iceland is a harsh land, not easily giving up her secrets. It was just the three of them in a crawler that first spied the ruins. It took another hour hiking along a crevasse filled with sharp rocks at the bottom before they reached their goal. The memory made Claudia take another gulp of wine.

The temple ruins weren't like any that the three researchers were used to. It definitely wasn't dedicated to Odin, Thor, or Frey. Precious little in the way of artifacts were found. However, runes decorated almost every wall. It was Claudia who had found the sword shard on the altar. Johan was so excited that he grabbed it away from her. The shard made a small cut in Claudia's finger that bleed painful and profusely. Johan didn't seem to notice. His eyes were only for the shard.

The three of them had stayed in the temple for a week documenting, and recording all they could. The weather outside had turned ugly, and the professor had decided to return again when the weather permitted. Johan was reluctant to leave, but Claudia eventually convinced him that in fact they would return.

It was on the way back that the weather turned very bad. Claudia shuddered in her bath remembering the cold, another sip of wine. The trio was about three hours away from the temple when disaster struck; the crawler died. Outside the world had turned white, and the wind screamed like a tortured soul; total white out. It was Professor Olaf who first got out to check on the motor, and few minutes later Johan got out as well. Trying to stay warm Claudia bundled up in the back. She must have fallen asleep, for the next she knew the crawler was moving again. Claudia woke, and peered over the back of the seat. Professor Olaf wasn't in sight; Johan was behind the controls.

    "Where's the professor?" asked Claudia.

At first Johan wouldn't answer his eyes were only on the path in front of the crawler.

In a strained voice Johan said, "I lost him. When I got out of the crawler, I couldn't see him in all the driving snow. I called out his name, but my words were thrown back in my teeth by the wind. I was able to get the motor to work again, but I didn't see Olaf. When we get back to town, we'll get search and rescue out here."

Claudia accepted what she had been told. She didn't notice the bruise on Johans' face; she was so distraught over the professors' disappearance. Nor did she notice the shard clutched tightly in his right hand.

They were almost back to town when Johan attacked her. It was so sudden, that he almost succeeded. It was only the thickness of her clothes that protected Claudia from the shard wielded by Johan. He just turned and started stabbing at her like a madman. Claudia was able to fight back, and a lucky kick to Johans' gut took the fight out of him. Or it could've been that the shard came out of his hand. Without thinking Claudia scooped up the shard and fled out into the storm.

It felt like hours before she was able to get to her home near the university. Claudia knew that Johan would be after her and locked the house up tight. Oddly enough he didn't. Claudia was afraid to leave home, knowing that at any time Johan might attack her again. For a week Claudia stayed in. It was a week later that the police showed up asking questions.

Professor Olaf had been found. He was certainly dead, and to make matters worse Johan had told the police that she was the one who was responsible for the professors' death. He said that the professor and Claudia had argued, and when the professors' back was turned she had struck him from the behind with a knife, leaving him for dead in the blizzard. Claudia knew the police believed Johan; he could charm the birds from the trees, another big gulp of wine. While the police couldn't prove that Claudia killed the professor, she knew it would only be a matter of time.

Claudia lay down her empty wine glass; the bottle was empty as well. Again she pondered the shard. The past was closed to her, and painful too. It was to be about release she sought with the shard. It didn't even hurt, as the edge of the shard dug into the flesh of her wrists. In a way it was like a lovers kiss. Blood flowed freely and profusely from the wounds. Soon the bath water turned crimson, and it over flowed the bathtub running across the bathroom like a river. Claudia couldn't help but watch the scarlet stream as if she were far far away.

Claudia walked along the bloody river, without a care in the world. The dead care nothing of the world. The landscape around the river of blood would've horrified most people, with it's trees like bony fingers, a sky of perpetual gloom, but again the dead take no notice of the world around them.

Claudia didn't know how long she walked; time was meaningless in this place along the river. Eventually she found the bridge, and the dog, Garm.

Thanks, one of these days I'll get Helsdottir finished. As for WW, she's a parady of Wonder Woman, but I couldn't find any ropes on Fabrica.
