    Question Spiral Binding

I believe spiral binding to be the superior binding option.
It lays flat from the first page to the last with little chance of the binding breaking.
You can fold it on its self so you can read it easily with one hand.

The downsides are you can’t have the page count be too high and there is no binding text or artwork.

You could remedy these problems by separating the book into two or three separate pieces (Character Creation/Combat/Genre) and putting it in a shrink wrapped board game box. Like an old TSR Campaign Setting.

I not 100% sure about production cost but I think spiral binding is cheaper compared to adhesive binding/sewn binding.

This might be a terrible idea just because so many people use the giant black book as a symbol of the Hero System and changing it might be consider blasphemous to some. Personally I like change.

I think most game stores would hate spiral binding because it hurts adjacent books if packed closely.

The obvious solution for those wanting spiral binding is to buy the new book as a PDF, then print and spiral bind it in as many volumes as they like.

    Re: Spiral Binding

I'd like to see this as at least an option: certainly for the Sidekick (should something of this sort be printed) if not the core rules in a slimmed down version. Spiral binding lays flat and is easy to use but is usually slightly less durable (easy to tear pages out, or tear them slightly at the rings). Definitely I'd welcome it as an option at the very least.

This is not an appropriate subject for this forum. If and when we want input on this decision, trust me, we'll ask.
