Wow. This is very shocking news. I only met Andy a couple of times but he seemed like a great guy. My condolences to his family and the whole Hero gang.

    RIP Andy.

My deepest condolences to the Mathews family and the Hero Games crew.

I met Andy this past GenCon and talked only briefly with him, he was one of the few individuals I've ever met who just seemed truly happy.

    Rest In Peace.

I'm among those that just met Andy in person this last Gencon. It makes me even happier that Keri and I were able to make it. It was a close thing, with Gencon falling right when we were closing on our house, and Keri being 6+ months pregnant.
Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones. -Marcus Aurelius

    Aw man; RIP Andy.
Like Bill, I finally got to meet Andy at GenCon this year. He was as nice and cool a guy as there could be.

My condolences to his friends and family. He will be missed.

May you be in good company, grab a seat at Gygax's table....I am sure it will be a good game.

That is tragic. My condolences to the family, and to our community.

My condolences. I never met the man, but the comments tell me I would have like him a lot. Drats! I missed him. As a believer, I believe I will meet him someday.

I've seen his name mentioned here and there on the boards, but I never knew Andy. Now, reading some of the things people have been saying about him, and some of the things from his own blog, I feel like I missed out.

My condolences to his friends and family.

    Words?
    What words do I have?

I don't know how to convey this loss.

I had the priviledge of playing with Andy in a PBEM recently.

    I will MISS HIM!!!

I only just met Andy face to face this year, though we had spoken on the boards. I am so very sorry to hear this, and my deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

I knew he'd been sick, but...wow. I mean, I'm in a couple of PBEMs with him. I talked with him regularly until this recent illness.

I seriously can't think of a damn thing to say.

    I miss him already...

    God Bless, Koslov.

At Gen Con Andy singled me out for his kindness. He complimented me and was a great guy. He sat beside me at dinner. If only we could have talked more.

Deepest condolences to all of DOJ. If you start any kind of charity in his name, I'm in.

Re: A Sad Day For The Hero Family

Andy had been my friend for only two short years, and the Minister of Excellence at LostCoastGaming.com for almost that long.

He helped me stay sane when I was laid up in the summer of 07 with a staph infection in my leg, just being around online when family and work permitted.

He was a wonderful, good man as well as a good friend. My personal condolences to his wife and family -- as well as the heartfelt sympathies of everyone at LCG.
