The Visitors- From V, can these retilian sons of (bleeps) conquer Earth when.....

Skynet- and his Terminator creations have taken over the Earth. Will the machines whoop some reptilian booty.

Skynet- and his Terminator creations have taken over the Earth. Will the machines whoop some reptilian booty.

The Visitors have the advantage of having motherships which are orbital weapon platforms and troopers that have directed energy weapons that can hurt the Terminators.

The Terminators (which I refer to the Series 800, the Arnold version) are generally issued with a Westinghouse M-27 Phased Plasma Battle Rifle in the 40 watt range or General Dynamics RBS-80 Phased Plasma Pulse Gun. (based on the Terminator Wiki at http://terminator.wikia.com/wiki/Series_800) which I believe has a higher rate of fire and can likely kill a Visitor just as easily as a human.

In a direct match of ground troops, the Terminators would have a tough time, but eventually win. However, I feel Skynet would see that only as a distraction for what I think it would do, infiltrate a mothership to access its database. Either by playing dead, so the Visitors think they are food, or by infiltrating a shuttle.

Since Donovan has managed to do that task several times, it is conceivable that they, at the very least, would learn how their smaller craft function.

The aerial HKs are powerful enough to deal with the Visitor small craft and vice versa.

In the end, I see the Visitors obtaining a beachhead and holding it in the short term because Skynet will attempt to study them and work on ways to send infiltration units into their base of operations to steal their advanced technology.

I think Skynet will succeed in obtaining the technology and then push an attack, forcing the Visitors to fight to keep their territory until Skynet can determine the best way to remove the mothership threats, creating newer HKs that could reach the motherships or some sort of computer virus that would take over the motherships, so it could turn it against the Visitors.

In the end, the Visitors will be routed with no means of escape and be hunted down just like the humans, but Skynet will have newer means to exterminate them.

... And will probably also have acquired enough technology for interstellar travel to be doable. It would certainly be a heckuva lot easier for a bunch of killer robots than a bunch of Visitors and/or Humans.

Note that Skynet has always seemed to favour pre-emptive action. So, if faced with a choice between waiting for more hostile aliens to show up, or going "Search And Destroy" on their origin point(s), which do you think Skynet would go for?

This could be an interesting campaign. Not only are you avoiding robots which may look like your friends, then you have to worry about being eaten by people who look like your friends. Zombies attack would be sooo much easier to survive.

P.S. I voted for Chuck Norris who would train a group to be his Chuck Norris Commandos.
I'm amazed at what I learned, when I sat down and actually read the rules!

Actually, I believe Chuck Norris was vapourised in one of the first nuclear strikes. SkyNet and its Terminators would totally whup Visitor arse.

Especially if they turned Cameron, Arnold and Robert loose at once.

Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Nations and peoples who forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and freedoms. — Robert Heinlein

The Visitors will win. Orbital bombardment FTW. Plus they have learned quite a bit since 1985... And they want our water bad. Skynet is just homicidal, Visitors are desperate. V wins hands down.

Drat! i should have added zombies to the equation.

Note: Zombies would be a greater threat to the reptiles. Or at least be more likely to affect them (depending on whether the zombie virus affect anything other than human, I suppose). It certainly wouldnt be much worry for something inorganic. (even if it were to somehow affect the cyborg's flesh, not all of them had flesh per se. And it would only mean I slight change of plans for Skynet.

You're implying that Chuck would be killed by a single lone strike. That doesnt make sense.

Probably because I hit the multiple choice option. When I was making the poll. When I was looking through the options my trigger finger went off on the mouse. ANd I was concentrating on getting everything else right, so I forgot to go back and get rid of it.

(I've only created a handful of polls, so I am still a bit clumsy)
