Note that Skynet has always seemed to favour pre-emptive action. So, if faced with a choice between waiting for more hostile aliens to show up, or going "Search And Destroy" on their origin point(s), which do you think Skynet would go for?
Good point. Though, Skynet has also shown to adapt their strategy too. (like switching from the fake rubber skin, to the flesh thing when doing infiltration). So, with a different opponent, I could see it feasible they would change their tactics a bit.

Though, thinking about Skynet with interstellar travel? We got a variation of a Borg scenario.

Not Borg. Borg want to Assimilate and "add your cultural and technological distinctiveness to our own."

Skynet would bomb first and salvage tech later. Neverway got it right - Berserkers.

Well, technically Skynet is just taking the cultural part out of it.

I think you need to think in terms of "Why did Skynet attack humanity?"

What was Skynet's reason for attacking humanity and what would they do when they finally win?

Standard Hollywood reasoning has it that any sentient robot / computer / artifical being will inevitably devote all of its resources and energies to either exterminating or enslaving humanity.

Apparently, Hollywood cannot believe that any sentient machine might logically choose to Get A Life instead.

Arthur C Clarke said that if there is a war between humans and machines, it will be the humans who start it [out of fear, probably].

Any sufficiently intelligent machine would, in all likelihood, recognise the futility of war.

    Cameron's still cute, though.

If Skynet has already won, there won't be any humans to exploit as a food source, so the V-aliens don't invade. Of course, Chuck Norris saves the day, but with the only remaining big guns being the bad guys, I'll watch something else. *yawn*

You know, what was it about humans that made us such great food?

Why didn't they just ask us for cows?

Wouldn’t it be more likely that they team up to face their mutual foe Giant Atomic Chuck Norris?

Actually, I can see them working together they want the same things sky net wants humanity exterminated the reptiles want to eat humanity oh and our water which sky net has no use for I figure sky net would be more than happy to trade humanity and earth's water for visitor technology.

Then once earth is cleared of humanity y and the visitors have strip mined it of its water and population Skynet can convert the solar system into Computronium and travel to the stars to find new worlds to conquer.

The Visitors hold the high ground -- they win.

Superior technology and the high ground go to the Visitors.

Chuck wins... he has the durability of a cock roach thus no mere nuclear device can exterminate him. And no machine can withstand his icy stare!!!

And if that doesn't work he can force them to watch "The Ulitmate Gym" infomercial... Instant obliteration.
