New Policy: Shipping And Handling Charges

Due to recent increases in shipping costs, we’ve reached the point where we’re going to have to start charging a little something for orders of hardcopy books shipped from the Online Store. We don’t like to have to do it, and we’re going to keep S&H charges as low as we can, but shipping expenses have risen to the point where they’re biting into the bottom line a bit too much.

Here’s how it’s going to work. Beginning November 9, we’ll start charging a modest shipping and handling fee for orders we have to ship (obviously this doesn’t apply to electronic products like PDFs). Orders up to that time will still be free, so now’s your chance to take advantage of free shipping if you want it! The S&H schedule will be:

    Orders up to $30: $3 S&H
    Orders from $31-60 $5 S&H
    Orders from $61-99: $7 S&H
Orders $100 or more: free shipping and handling!
International orders (anywhere outside the US): $10 S&H for any amount up to $99; free for orders of $100 or more

As always, thanx for your support of our Online Store.

Could we get the option to choose the shipping method??

For example, I would prefer USPS over UPS.

    Thanks,
    James

Given the slump in RPG sales in recent years, I'm impressed that Hero Games held that line as long as they did.

Me, too. I've noticed a few posters mention that they had their books shipped via USPS, so perhaps one can request that service. I'm going to try it with my next order. I don't expect or demand any lesser shipping charges, but I have other reasons for preferring this method.

Bump. I hadn't noticed this thread earlier (and apparently hadn't noticed that earlier orders had S&H charges). Not complaining about the charges at all, but I absolutely agree that the FAQ page Barton linked above needs to be updated. It shouldn't be saying S&H is free when it's not.

    Hi,
If I buy for more than 100 $ of "real" books and pdf, do the free shipping and handling apply ? Or is it only for 100 $ of "real" books ?

Re: New Policy: Shipping And Handling Charges

I've made the test with mixed products for a total of 104,80 $, and in the order summary it's said : S&H: 7,00 $.
I thought that it was 10 $ or nothing (depending of the 100 $ cap) for international orders... Where am I wrong ?

    Edit : it's now 10 $ for S&H. => Can someone tell me why it's not free since I've hit the 100 $ cap ?

Re: New Policy: Shipping And Handling Charges

I was interested in purchasing two book and pdf bundles, which came to a total price of approximately $95. I added the Great White Hunter's Bestiary pdf (cost $5), which made the final price $100.23, in order to exceed the $100 free shipping limit (and because I wanted the GWHB). However, when I went to check out, I was being charged the $7 S&H.

Did the policy change for the free shipping and handling?
Do pdf's not count to the total necessary for the free shipping?

Only shipped items count towards the total for shipping charges.

What is the shipping duration typically? Is there a way to upgrade the shipping?

Shipping (for my orders) has been UPS Ground. I don't think there's a way to update it, but you could probably contact Tina if you needed to rush things.
