Icon19 Stars Racing One-Million MPH Through Milky Way's Halo May Be From Other Galaxies

    http://www.dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog...ies-video.html

MIT astronomers announced that stars of a recently discovered type, tagged ultracool subdwarfs, take some pretty wild rides reaching speeds of one million mph as they orbit around the Milky Way, following paths very different from those of typical stars. One of them may actually be a visitor that originated in another galaxy.
So we have an example of an incredibly ancient star from the dawn times when Cthulhu and Galactus were roaming free, that come from the hideous outer darkness beyond the fringes of our galaxy.

And your players, predictable morons that they are, will be happy, nay, eager to hop into their starship and run to explore this star of no return with THIS IS A TRAP!!! written all over it.

There are several globular clusters which are most probably captures, that is, they originally belonged to other galaxies which have been consumed into our own. Could be this is true for a large proportion of the Galaxy's globular cluster population, in fact.
... abnormal, non-Euclidean, and loathsomely redolent of spheres and dimensions apart from ours.

But only by using this velocity boost can we make the hyper-jump to the Greater Magellanic Cloud and contact the surving worlds of the Five Galaxies Federation! Whatever the risk, it is worth it if it will restore civilisation to the galaxy.
And get us a couple of the VBG-2000s of ancient legend...
