I just found Dragonsfoot, and yah, some of those guys are hard core.... It's good to have conversation in AD&D terms again, and it's helping me brush up for my game.
As a side note, I've got my group to decide and be in favor of playing 2nd ed, and I'm happy. So it seems that I've got a Human Paladin/Cavalier (kit), Grey elven (complete book of elves) Wizard (Mage- universalist) and Thief, and a Highelven (PHB) Druid.
Not bad, I tried to get the human to take a Fighter/Cavelier (+5 to hit & Damage w/Lance) and one less with a bastard sword to hit. plus one more HP... but he's got some good Saving throws as a paladin... and he seems to have wanted to play it this way, so whatever, I guess I'm just more of a fighter type player... lol.
I'm thinking to make the world a little more "elven" in nature, due to the high level of elves in the party. If you've ever seen Stardust (or read it, I'm assuming, because I haven't, so I wouldn't know), I'm wanting to make something like a barrier between worlds... and once per Human lifetime one man of impeccable virtue is sent over past the barrier to the elven kingdoms... where there be monsters... and adventure. I dunno, what you all think?
