    Giant Robot Combat!

Anyway, does anyone know where I can find stats for the following giant robots? With The Ultimate Vehicle coming out - I'm raring for a classic Giant Robot Combat campaign...

Ooh! Spiffy! Combattler V and the bladed Yo Yo's of destruction! Don't recognise the two behind him off the top of my head, but they look familiar.

    Other Robots!

Foreground is also known as Combatra V!
Next and to the left is his precursor, Voltes V (Let's Volt, In!)!
    And finally, Daimos...

Any of you guys remember Raidin? Not sure on the spelling because it's been years and years since I've seen the show. Your typical mega bot with giant bow, built in shield, giant sword, energy projectiles from his chest and of course transformation into a huge eagle form that always did the move through of doom.

Oh yes! "Brave Raideen"! Possibly the very first "transformable" robot back in the 70's robot show genre. Better known in the States as "Shogun Warriors". In fact, there was a Marvel comic of the same name that used Raideen, Combattler V (above) and Danguard Ace. Only the mecha designs were used from the source materiel. Nothing else. I loved that comic as a kid. But it's unbearably cheezy now. ^_^

But... you mean you didn't think Dr. Demonicus was the greatest?!?!

    Code:

    Mister Vimes
"No! Please! I'll tell you whatever you want!" the man yelled.

WOW!!! I haven't seen that character in over 15 years! Where did you get that?

Okay. Maybe it isn't unbearably cheesy. But the nacho quotient is way up there.

I don't know if this particular giant robot fits into the same
background as Raideen or any of the others that have been
mentioned thus far, but one of those that was part of the
"Shogun Warriors" toy line back in the late '70s was Mazinga
(I think it was called Mazinger over in Japan). It had a lot of
the same type of style elements in its design as the previously-
    mentioned robots.

IIRC, the anime series that featured Mazinga/Mazinger ran for
a while here in Cincinnati on Channel 64 back when its call
letters were WIII (prior to the change to WSTR).

I remember in a Tranzor Z cartoon that he had a female robot counerpart that launched her boobs out as huge missiles!

This was from the same eccentric that created Devilman and Cutey Honey, was it not? Some serious hallucinogens involved there.

That's the anime I was trying to think of, Tranzor Z! Thanks,
    Mightybec.

BTW, the female robot's name was (IIRC) Aphrodite-A. Now that I
think about it, though, that business with the Bosom Of Mass
Destruction was probably why I quit watching the show...

In all fairness, though, the live-action giant robot/monster shows
from Japan were just as cheesy in that regard (anybody out there
remember Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot, or [I] Ultraman[/I)
for that matter? Now there was some major Grade-A cheese).
