Happy New Years from TheQuestionMan Folks, I hope my fellow HEROphiles are doing well and having fun. The NEWS from HERO Games was disheartening, but I hope for the future. I strongly believe that future includes us.

Wow, make me feel like a failure, in '04 I ment to do a 100 hero member team. Never finished it. Anyways, this year is about getting the first of 3 books written on "street Heroes" (the ground covered by 4th edition Dark champions somewhat)

Re: Your "2012" Pet Gaming Projects

I've been poking at the idea of working on a Gemini Ascendant sourcebook and possibly a revival game. I still have little desire to actually run something yet, but I have been going over the source material from the old thread and what's on my computers. A lot of unrealized potential in the setting and many of the characters. Not quite as enthused about the last "season's" direction though.

And to have that much of a gaming thought is encouraging news indeed. At least from my angle.

Well I'm on a declutter kick at the house. Threw a bunch of junk away. I'm going to do this with my hobby stuff. Declutter all my gaming stuff, give away stuff that was given to me bacause a) I'm a Pact Rat and 2) I thought I could use it. Which I never will. Organize my stuff on computer and maybe make a nice binder with all my notes written out clearly. There are two type of characters I would like to write up for myself. A TK using MA named pyskick, and a strecthing character thats a MA. But we'll see what '12 brings, perhaps I'll have a chance to run another game!
I'm amazed at what I learned, when I sat down and actually read the rules!

Warning--unless explixtedly stated, all comments are made to 5th ed rev.

Once my Traveller Hero Campaign comes to and end (maybe in a few months) I want to run a something like a Scion Hero game (converted to the Hero System, of course)...I picked up Weird War II pdf from Steve Jackson games....If I combine the two...it may make for an interesting mash-up.

I'm gonna convert Terracide to Savage Worlds, and look for a publisher. And I've got my shiny new Terracide campaign running every two weeks at Armored Gopher Games in Urbana IL. Currently they players are at T+100 (that's 100 days after the Terracide) and they're beginning to make some long-range plans for their own survival, and thinking about how to screw over anyone who gets in their way.

Winter War is coming up in Champaign IL, Jan 27-29 and I'll be running an all-new Terracide adventure there, as well. If time permits, I'll also have Kamaranthin and Kazei 5 adventures I ran last year at GenCon.

I've also got some work to do for D3 Games' Kamaranthin setting; everything you ever wanted to know about the Sanguinary Order, but were too squeamish to ask.

The Shadows Angelus story I was working on a year ago STILL isn't finished. It's taking forever, but I think I'll get it done this year.
After the Terracide... 300 years from today, artificial space colonies orbit distant stars while terraformers labor to create new worlds for humanity. Bizarre aliens come to trade exotic goods unknown to Terran technology. And the lifeless, charred husk of mankind's homeworld slowly cools in the empty, silent void of a dead star system. Welcome to the rest of the Galaxy; It's Dark Out There.

I'm continuing my Fantasy Hero campaign (click here)

In my copious (ha!) spare time, I'm putting together a Teen Titans Go! / Hero sourcebook that I can use when I run my regular TT game at conventions.

Like Xavier, I'm considering converting The Widening Gyre to Savage Worlds and seeing if I can't get it published.

Is Savage Worlds a low/no cost license fee system?

Publishers need a license for it, AFAIK. I've spoken with a few licensed SW publishers, and there's been interest, but no solid commitment yet. OTOH, the ones most interested don't yet have a license to publish SW products, but they're working on it.

I'll probably go with one of the latter, if they get licensed. Sort of a "let the mountain come to Moses" situation.

Re: Your "2012" Pet Gaming Projects

My gaming projects for 2102, in order of personal importance:

    1. Finish off the writeup for my current Harn campaign. About 90% done with writing at this point. After that, try to find some free art on the web to include, and finish off the future timeline chart.

    2. Finish my Galloway's Grenadiers storyline for Battletech. 10,879 words so far, and about 7,500 to go. More a history of the unit and battle synopsis than anything else - not a short story or novel. Once I have all the details worked out, I hope to try writing a short story. Unfortunately, plot is my strong point, not script. Conversation is the worst.

    3. Start the writeup for a second Harn campaign. Whereas the first is highly detailed in a small area of one kingdom, the second will be wide-ranging, and cover major events in three kingdoms. Most of it will be from the view of a bishop or earl, not a knight or peasant.

    4. Start writing a comprehensive historic overview of my super hero storyline. I know all these events that have happened or that I want to have happen. Not so clear on the exact order though....

My stuff would look much better with an extra 90 years to work on it.

Fine idea, IMHO. Get Blackwyrm on the phone! Just kidding, Mattingly.
