    Boon and Destroy

    Boon/Destroy (Yeld)
    Value:
    +4

A charater with this advantage for there Adjustment Powers (Boon for Aid, Destroy for Drain) no longer use the time chart for the points to fade/recover. Instead the GM and the players create situations where all the points fade/recover. Some examples of common situations are; when the uses of the adjustment power is killed; by the will of the user of the adjustment power; when an object which repersents the drained points or extra points are destroyed; when the afected charater does a certan task.

Points aidded by Boon are removed first when afected by Drain, and do not recover. Points drained by Destroy are 'healed' by Aid and do not fade. (To make such effects which peramently Drain or Aid in ways that Aid can not heal, or Drain can not peramently harm, use the power Transformation instead).

Behind The Curtan: The value for both Boon and Destroy was figured out by takeing the advantage Delayed Fade/Return Rate down to the 5 points per centery level (+4).

If you wish, you can create Boon and Destroy as it's own power instead of it being an advantage.

    Boon
    Type: Adjustment
    Duration: Instant
    Range: No Range
    Cost END: Yes
Cost: 30 Charater Points per 1d6 of Boon

    Destroy
    Type: Adjustment
    Duration: Instant
    Range: 10x Base Points
    Cost END: Yes
Cost: 50 Charater Points per 1d6 of Destroy

Couldn't you get this by simply defining the heal back condition on a Transform instead of making a new Advantage?
On the one hand you want realism, on the other you want a playable game. We can argue about this all night long, but until you all line up against the wall and let me shoot you, we are not going to learn anything. ~Sean Waters

Quite true. But you don't get the control Aid or Drain gives.

What I love about the Hero System...there are tons of ways to do basicly the same thing, and all are (mostly) legal.

Not a bad idea at all, and a useful shorthand.

One thought though - Why not actually use the 'reduced fade rate advantage ' - it gives more flexibility and will not increase the power base cost (which affects using other modifiers).

In this case, Transform looks like a blunt instrument.

Example: It would cost the same to take away 5 pts of STR, as 25.

If anything, I think this is over-costed. I could just move up the Time Chart and say "Here, have +12 STR as long as you live" (or as long as you're likely to play this character) and instead it's "Have +12 STR until the Ogre of Woolverton is slain."

I agree with Lucius. I could make the fade rate 5 per century, in which case there would be no condition to end the effect, and the effect could not be permanently eliminated with an ordinary Drain or Aid.

I could see this as a talent, and like most talents when you want to alter or improve it. Simply start with the base power.
For example you could make this power affect everyone who participates in a ritual and end when X quest is over, combined with some ritual needing be performed. It might look like this

The priest pulls the adventurers into a room and begins a ritual rite of cleansing placing on the the blessing of the most high so that they may be assured of their victory in the coming quest.

Talent: Blessing From Heaven: Aid Str, Con, Body & Stun 2d6, Area Of Effect (4m Radius; +1/4), Expanded Effect (x4 Characteristics or Powers simultaneously) (+1 1/2), Delayed Return Rate (points return at the rate of 5 per Century; +4) (81 Active Points); Extra Time (20 Minutes, -2 1/2), Limited Power Power loses about a third of its effectiveness (only until quest is complete; -1/2), Gestures (-1/4), Incantations (-1/4)

    All for only 18 points.

I don't get what you mean with "Controll" here. Do you mean how Aid's stack? Or that the effect is not related to the targets Body?

For Transform: Have you considered "Partial Effect"?

How about a Persistent Useable on Others?
