Windows 7 install problem

No matter what the permissions screen might say, Program Files and Program Files x86 (for 32 bit programs) are both protected directories. What you want to do is either do what Simon suggested, or create a new directory specifically for Hero Designer outside the Program Files directories, using whatever computer user login you usuallly use.

I had trouble getting Hero Designer to install, but a good part of that is because Java itself had trouble installing. Once I had it installed, Hero Designer worked fine; I have it installed to the D: drive under its own directory.

I had to install mine in the my documents folder.

As stated, I tried that. Please read entire thread before commenting.

Whatever it was, the change from Java 6.30 to Java 6.31 seems to have fixed it.
