    Question Who have you 'cloned'?

Naturally, I mean as in borrowing heavily, if not directly, from a published Comic Book Super hero.

I'm curious what, if any, are the concepts that are most successful adaptations that you find yourself using over and over.

This poll, like many of my other ones, means nada really, but is a fun way to pretend to 'keep score'. Multiple choices will be allowed

I try and make some of everything for NPCs/Villains. For player characters, I lean toward energy projectors and martial artists, none of which really fit the above categories. So Other. Though I love them super-patriot types.

Argh, good point. Heck, I should have put "One of the FF" as an option

The Torch was, for a time, the very template for Energy Projectors in my games.

Actually, several of my oldest characters predate the comic characters they're inevitably compared to. I'm sure many old timers have the same problem.

The ones that come to mind are a Cap clone (with a spiffy cape instead of a shield -- yeah, that's me, a font of creativity at age 15), a Bullseye clone (in powers, anyway - one of my favorite PCs), and a butch mythological character (Herne the Hunter) that I guess had his roots in Thor.

    Mine is Captain Marvel.

Thundrax, my longest running PC was a transforming teenage brick with a mystic origin, and Omega, my ToT PC, is an Iron Age squish of the Big Red Cheese, Supes, and some kid who swears a lot.

I'm the only one with a Wolverine clone?

Next November all of you will go to the polls: you'll stand there in the polling place and make a decision. I think when you make that decision. it might be well if you would ask yourself, is Osama bin Laden still dead?

All I can say is that I'm glad it's not the early/mid '90s any more. I gave up Champions for awhile because it seemed everyone wanted to run some clone/amalgam of Punisher, Ghost Rider and Wolverine, and I wasn't at all interested in running a Dark Champions or high-carnage kind of campaign.

I've seen more characters with AP or Penetrating claws than I've seen clones of any other single comic concept.

Next most common is probably Iron Man clones.

I had one player in our game group whose characters all seemed clones of each other. No matter what else his character did, all his characters flew, had at least 30 STR and had Damage Reduction. His super-patriot, his Manbat clone, his Cyclops clone and even his Green Arrow clone (Blue Bowman) were all immune to small arms fire, could bench-press a Toyota, and flew by on means or another.

I've cloned everything on the list except for Punisher.

    I have a few "clones":
    Iron-Man: Paladin
    Nightcrawler: Black Demon
Cyclops: Starfire (solar eyebeams, complete with visor)
    Capt America: Shieldsman

Moonknight and Daredevil I wrote up straight from the comics, picture and all.

I have an NPC (occasional PC) who, within the first minute I'd introduced him, caused my players to say "Oh, he's like Batman." Now they pester me to "do the voice" every time he shows up.

And I've got a back-up PC character, "Thorium", who has radiation powers and Thor's hammer (and glove and belt).

    And I'm working on a create-energy-constructs GL-type right now.

No Superman, yet. And no gun bunnies. But I've had several friends who always made Wolverine wannabes -- that was in the late 80s, though. They may have grown out of that phase. Well, one of them may have.

I'm fixing to run a character that I'm sure the less astute members of my gaming group will assume is a clone of Green Lantern. He's more of a clone of the old Star Man though.

Iron Man. I've ran several clones of him in games and used clones as NPCs before. I'm a big fan of shell head.
Still playing/running 5ER in Oklahoma City.
