    Fantasy Hero Grimoire Math?

One of the major problems my GM (and the group) had with the original Fantasy Hero Companions was that the math for the spells were done so poorly, with lots of math errors (if you did the math they way they said to).

Has anyone had a chance to go over the Fantasy Hero Grimoire? How is the math for the spells? I'm trying to sell my GM on the idea of upgrading her Fantasy Hero campain and that is always the VERY first question out of her mouth. I've not yet had the chance to get the book and try the math myself.

The math in FHG was double-checked by some dozen playtesters, possibly even more. Since I only had time to send emails to Steve for Alchemy through Divination I cannot speak for the whole book, but I know there were several different people doing them. So I would say that the thousands of spells are at least 99% correct (there are no absolutes in HERO).

Some of the enchantment spells may be off (at least the active point totals are wrong on a few - yes, even taking the independent limitation off), but hopefully the rest are better. I only went over 7 or 8 and found 2 errors so far, but didn't finalize to see if the real cost changed. Given the relatively low costs, I don't think they'll be off by much (maybe a fraction).

Hopefully Monolith is right for the rest - I had to refigure most of the spells in the older versions.

I think "a dozen" may be high, but several playtesters did check the math in addition to my own checking. So far I have not had a single report of a math errata. It's entirely possible that some exist -- there are, after all, something around 4,500 spells and all the mathematical calculations they entail -- but by and large I don't think it should pose a problem for you.
