It's a strange life when travelling to the home country of quality beer and large-breasted blondes is considered to be a poor trade compared to playing a computer game.

Well, (and I know you're kidding around), the thing is that the beer right there in Bavara, to my taste, isn't the best (their specialty around there is all lager, not my thing, and the hefeweissen is a bit too thick for my taste although it is quite flavorful, although the dunkeweissen or such, the dark hefeweissen, is excellent even with the heaviness, something about the beer itself as opposed to just the wheat being heavy). And the blondes, eh, well, I haven't really found German women to be compelling on the whole, although there certainly are some nice ones. The prettiest women in the world, though, that I ever saw in large numbers for a place, were in nearby (relatively speaking) Strasbourg, where the natives are French-German mixed blood.

In Shibuya, the 109 Department Store (Ichi-Maru-Kyu) had a food court on the top floor. The department store is in easy walking distance of multiple junior colleges, high schools, and hostess clubs.

 

I have never seen such an amazing concentration of good-looking, scantily-clad young women.

Speaking of fixing things: Just yesterday I got two in-game e-mails from Lemming that were sent to me in June and July of last year

Yea, I got a ton of email as well.

 

So far, I haven't been visiting my screwed up characters yet. I did respec my MA/Regen at lvl 27 to drop Stamina and then headed over to Croatoa. Seems like a fun place to hang out.

Hooray! Invuln/SS tankers like my build! I am reaching my core targeted audience and giving people with that power set HOPE! Feels damn good!

 

I also have a great plan for how Kara joins Arachnos with plausible deniability with the hero community. Board a plane flying near the Rogue Isles, use Laser Beam Eyes to ignite the plane's fuel tanks (killing 350 people around her), and fly down to parlay with Arachnos. The papers will assume Arachnos attacked the plane and Kara is either dead or captured. Meanwhile, Dr. Kara Lokison does human enhancement research for Arachnos, then "surfaces" in Paragon later claiming she "escaped" Arachnos. This will make it very easy for her to spy on the heroes for Arachnos, and sabatague items... Oh I can't wait until Kara can fall to the dark side!

 

Kimmie, starting her weekend and in a great mood now that I have seen that people like my I5 build (last one posted here)! And that Kara has a perfect backstory for CoV once characters are allowed to quest to cross factions.

I had the oddest experience last night.

 

My scrapper cannot take an arch-villain solo. Mind you, IMO, nobody should be able to. But I did have a scrapper level twice then go back and fight the now "orange" level AV with a sidekicked healer and win. But that's an ugly way to do it. It's always more fun to go in with a group of appropriate level and fight a markedly superior AV.

 

So last night I see a broadcast calling for AV fighters and I join after confirming that a 46th level scrapper is okay for this 50th level group. This makes 4 of us; the other 3 are all 50s. Well, within seconds, one of the guys quits. The other two still seem intent on doing this, so I figure I'm up for a defeat or two.

 

Well, as the leader initiates the fight with the AV, I jump into the fray and start taking heavy damage. It seems like nobody is attempting to help except for a pet of one of the two. I notice the tanker is doing nothing. As I said, he's 50th.

 

"Is (so and so) AFK?" I ask.

 

"No, I'm playing both." the reply comes.

 

"Then this is just plain crazy," I said, still swinging away at the AV.

 

But sure enough, with this guy switching back and forth between 50th level characters, and me just swinging away with my 46th level scrapper, we managed to take out 50th level arch villain.

 

So I'm not entirely sure that Tankers were hurt all that much by any tweaks to the game. With just a little healing, he barely seemed to get a scratch during the whole fight.

What was his tank's build? Fire's resists were not lowered, and Stone Tankers with Granite are just as tough as ever.

 

Invuln was the Primary that lost 2/3rds of its resists, and we are having a difficult time adjusting to that.

I SKed (he's level 35) a Supergroup friend of mine last night and his Invuln Tanker had no problems taking on Purples and Reds. We had the group from 7 characters to 3 characters by the end of the day. Sure we had to take one group at a time and if there were more then one Red Boss (Which was Purple to him) I had to deal with it. Which is no problem for me since my defender (FF) is made to fight actually and not to defend (I dont have little bubbles). I was the only one who died and it was against a Security dude (He stunned me and he was yellow Grrrrrrr). Needless to say I put up my level back up to Teneasious (Sp?).

 

All in all. I still havent seen any bad things with I5. Even with invuln tankers.

Didn't really ask the build. Didn't see that "rock" effect come up on him, but I imagine he was and invulnerable type.

The Ralaaru (sp?) in Firebase Zulu are currently my biggest pain. It's all those mental powers. They're almost as annoying as trying to navigate that zone

Vetali has run all over Croatoa now. Got a few nifty temp powers including a 75 shot bow & arrow. Will need to level up to 30 before she can continue missions though. She's at 28 now. Without Stamina I have to watch my endurance, but that might be because I only have DOs in Quick Recovery. She's my poverty character. PL'd during the Winter Lord event about six levels and is just now starting to be able to outfit with SOs. Mainly in her attacks. Now just need to get her healing up to snuff.

 

There's an interesting mission where you have to stop Fir Bolg from entering a gate. The spawns in the area eventually start running toward it. You have to make sure 30 do not enter. I'm not sure how many are on the map, but I had to outfit myself with some Catch a Breaths, Insight, and enrages and just did a constant run around beating them up. If you fail, you just get the mission again so now they're enforcing farming.

Though you're bound to get the Pumpkin Master badge then.

I already killed 10 (18 actually, the counter wasn't decreasing) Tuathas and am up to the escort mission that gives the bow. If Vetali is on Champion, I can fire up the game, do the missions up to that point to match you, and Kara can help you corral the Fir Bolg in that mission.

 

Kara's currently trying to get the last arch for 30-34 against the CoT's Library of Thorns, but can pass on that to help you. Also, I have the mission offering the War Wall Defender Badge. If Vetali is up for it, we can do that to free up a mission slot for Kara before heading to Croatoa.

 

All depends on you and I both being on Champion. If you are, give me a shout out!

I got the Fir Bolg out of the way on the second try actually. Last mission before Kelly actually.

Vetali is now finishing up her Striga missions.

I wonder if I can start that CoT arch far enough from hitting 35 as I can in order to get the Croatoa TF unlocked. I plan to grind up there around 35 for the badges, but I want to unlock the witch hat. I think I'd look cute in it!

 

And yes, Kara WAS told by Dr. Vahzilok that she wasn't ethical enough to work with him. Seems he views her Human Perfection Project as just another Eugenics program...

 

Well... I don't know if Kara will experiment on heroes prior to being allowed to fall once that patch is added to CoH and CoV... After she falls, all bets are off!

 

If she offers you any enhancements of inspirations... Make sure they are factory sealed still. Or else you might find yourself a bit more "perfect". Maybe with power claws and enhanced resistance...

Well, I tested out the archery stuff this weekend. Not bad. I'll probably keep one of the characters (Jafa, a blaster tech/archery); I also played my fire/fire tanker (9th now), my broad/regen scrapper, and my fire/fire blaster. So far I see nothing that would make me think "dayumm! I done been nerfed!" Perhaps I play a tad cautiously but I've never had my tanker go up against reds and purples before, so picking and choosing my fights with whites and occasional yellows (or small groups of yellows with an orange) went well enough.

 

Haven't tried the sonic stuff yet, and I haven't seen much of the new content, but thus far I'm cool with the new version.

It's alright though; I've fought Nightstar, Inferno, Diabolique, Dominatrix and company enough times.

 

Of course imagine my surprise when Teen Anthem came across the alternate universe version of her idol, Ms. Liberty, and she turned out to be Dominatrix. She might need therapy.

Blue, what server are you on? If Champion, Kara hit 35 and could be SKed. She's not comfortable with En/El, but if she herds a bit she can get enough Defense from Invincibility to compensate.

 

At 35, her power selection and slotting might be enough to survive and contribute if SKed.

Vanguard, for Regen scrappers, IH turning into a click from a toggle was its big change. Fire/Fire's only real change was losing Burn as an ultimate power. Less damage, fear component, and longer recharge time for Burn.

Blue, on Justice I have a 12 Ar/EM blaster, 9 Rad/Psy Defender, 7 DM/Regen scrapper, and misc. other lowbies. If any of them could be of assistance, let me know and I will level them all to 10.

 

Won't be able to have a variety of powers, but I will be more than happy to SK up and help in any way I can.

I also have 34th (i think) level En/En blaster on Champion named Prof. Plasma who I haven't played in a while but am thinking about taking up to Croatoa to check it out.

RJ, Professor Plasma will only be able to do the last two contacts' archs, but will unlock the Croatoa TF. I just hit 35 with Kara and would love to get together with 5 others to do the TF and unlock the witch hat costume item.
