The cranky thread

Hermit

Recommended Posts

This is the thread for when you're feeling unreasonable, cranky, and/or just plain snarly.

By posting here, you automatically concede that you're crankiness has made your arguements questionable at best, and that anyone snapping at you is cranky as well so don't get really offended.

Don't post on this thread if you're in a good mood, happy, or (god help us) chipper...

Chipper is what we do to wood, it has no place on the cranky thread

This is the place to B*tch, moan, and complain about how lousy the little things in life are in petulant fashion.

Enjoy... only, don't enjoy too much, that'll go against the feel of things.

and that'll make me cranky

Re: The cranky thread

Good timing Hermit! I just came in after having an encounter with a #^&%! driver. He turned onto the street one block behind me as I was manuevering to backup into my driveway. (The city made a hole in the street slightly to the left of it), so for a second I blocked off the street. This guy barreled down the street in his 60s or 70s vintage pickup (nicely detailed) at I'm guessing at least 40 (25 zone), leaned on his horn, flipping me off. He also seemed to be yelling something. Good multitasking. What got me cranky was he also had two kids in the truck with him. Nice example to the kids guy!

I'm guessing he needed to get the kids somewhere, since he came barrelling by again 10 minutes later without the kids.

Grrrr... Perky people should be trapped in low paying airline jobs as punishment for depressing we cranky people by comparison.

I mean, who keeps giving these people coffee anyways?? They don't need it

Yeah, but you need us perky people around as a contrast. The Yin to your Yang. The up to your down. The positive to your negative. :bounce:

So, there! :tonguewav

Re: The cranky thread

After a week and a half nursing my father through his convalescence following knee replacement, I have come to a conclusion. Although I love him dearly, he can be an absolute ASS. Especially when he is hurting and/or depressed at his helplessness.

The other day he was denigrating my mom in front of his doctor. She got so pissed she blew up at him in the elevator, and I blew up at the two of them for driving me CRAZY!

My younger brother has come by to visit a few times, but... I slept there for the first 4 nights after he came home from the hospital. I am the one who moved a bedroom downstairs for him. AAARRRGGGGHHH!!!! My mom offered to pay me for my time. I told her I thought that was a little bit silly. She countered that she would have had to hire someone if I hadn't helped...

We haven't talked about it since, and I really could use the money to help with the downpayment on the House we are looking for, but still... They are my parent. They shouldn't HAVE to pay me to help. If I took it, I think I would feel like a mooch.

Life is a bitch, but it beats the alternative.

This thread is a godsend. Take this afternoon for instance. I'm walking down the street' date=' and I make eye contact with an attractive woman. So, I go up to her and ask her to give me her panties, and she totally flips out and slaps me. How rude![/quote']

How dare that girl for not drinking her coffee earlier and being on the 'perky' end of the caffiene curve to help balance out your 'cranky' mood.

wait, I don't think you meant 'that' type of cranky..

my baaad.. (wrong thread too!)

So you have to derail THIS thread?

Fie! A pox on thee!

:D

Not cranky enough to contribute much here, but I will DEFINITELY visit before too long, I imagine - probably not tonight, but probably at work tomorrow.

That reminded me of our last Hero Game session. I'm playing Null which is essentially a guy trapped in a female cyborg body with a second "programmed" personality. I have to roll every scene to determine which personality is active.

The team is still forming and last game we decided after a battle to go and meet to discuss what to do. We meet at a coffee shop because were not high profile yet.

The Inventor is staring at Null's cleavage. I ask him to stop because I'm a guy stuck in the body. He comments on how he would like to examine my body closer. He gets a face full of hot coffee. Spirit comments that I could "tape my breasts so that people wouldn't stare". The inventor then mentions how taping them would only draw more attention to them. Null calls the waitress over, orders a new coffee, gets the coffee, throws it in the Inventor's face again.

Jenn's mom worked as a carhop briefly. A cop got fresh with her so she asked "More coffee?" and proceeded to empty the pot in his lap.
