Robot Warriors sample mecha

I thought I would start a thread to post a few sample mecha, so people can get an idea of what they would look like under Robot Warriors. I have created these solely in accordance with the Robot Warriors mecha creation rules, not using my own updates at all.

 

(FYI: One Mass Unit is 100 kilograms.)

 

To begin:

 

R-17 "Panther" Light Rapid Reconaissance Mecha

 

Weighing in at just under 25 tons, the R-17 Light Rapid Reconaissance Mecha, aka the Panther, is intended to be fast and nimble. Lightly armed and armored, it relies on being difficult to see and hit as its main defenses. On foot it has a maximum speed of 240 kph; its fusion rockets allow it to fly at 192 kph. It is a little light in the sensory department; aside from a standard audiovisual sensor suite, the Panther is equipped with both ultraviolet cameras and Fuzzy Logic Visual Enhancement (FLVE) for enhanced visual perception. An Interplanetary Business Machines Neurolink III (using the ITU standard 2450.7bis protocol) links the Panther's pseudonervous system with the pilot, allowing it to move and fight exactly as the pilot would. Packing a light (some say substandard) 12.5 tons of armor and defensive screen generators (one of the most lightly armored mecha in the Terran Confederacy's inventory), the Panther is equipped with a Walther-Zeiss 80KW autolaser in a head-mounted turret and a Starmax 30mm light missile launcher carried as a pistol. The autolaser can be useful in a point defense role; the Panther is also equipped with a Raytheon microlaser automatic point defense system capable of knocking down or interfering with nearly any incoming projectile or beam attack.

 

Aside from its design considerations, the Panther has no known weaknesses. It relies on a Ballard-Sperry 200MW fusion reactor as its power source, with a one Terran year refueling cycle. Even so, it's not intended for long term missions; its primary role is to infiltrate and exfiltrate in an afternoon, or to stay in one place collecting intel, moving out under cover of darkness or the fog of war. The primary cause of battlefield Panther losses is from pilots attempting to stay in a battle and slug it out with larger mecha; this is suicide in the R-17.

 

Needless to say, only the best of the best are chosen to fly a Panther, and the stereotypical Panther pilot is, to put it charitably, a bit nuts.

The Phoenix

 

The Phoenix is a medium mecha (Size Class 4). It can transform from a humanoid form to a sleek form that looks something like a jet fighter.

 

(Yes, this is the obligatory transforming mecha. No, I don't have a faux Janes blurb for this one; I don't at the moment have the time or the creativity.)

 

Note: The pilot has contributed 34 points to this on a 1 for 1 basis.
