Musings on Random Musings

The only way I can get through each day is to distract the hell out of myself and just not think about my actual situation.  Is that bad?

You do what you have to do, but man, it sounds like a rough way to live, at least long-term. I hope your situation will improve, even if just a bit.

So is there a way to pick which topic gets removed from your archived topics? Or does it keep more than 5 pages?

How long do you suppose an artist has to make an issue of a monthly comic? They can't start publishing without being at least an issue ahead. But between coloring, printing and shipping, can they really maintain a monthly pace if the artist takes longer than two weeks?

No idea about that first question.

The second set of questions is kind of a pipeline question.  As long as you are producing issues -- pushing things into the pipeline -- at the rate they fall out of the pipeline, then how long it takes to make one particular issue isn't important, ASSUMING you can work on multiple issues in parallel.  That assumption is likely not to be true, if you want to avoid retcon-type problems in the initial release of a story; though it's easier to envisage if you have (e.g.) two parallel simultaneous plots and alternate issues dwell in alternate plots without overlapping.  I admit that's unlikely.

But I've never been in that racket (my tenure as a magazine columnist involved nonfiction columns that didn't depend on each other at all) so I have no real knowledge of how it works.

Now that cannabis is legal in California, should we be thinking about the appropriate wine pairings?

(This is a moot question here in WA; smoking is prohibited in restaurants, so it's only a question for private home dinners.)

Do not be afraid to look further than just wine.  There is, after all, a long tradition of an after-dinner cigar, and the drink that went with that is brandy.

Good idea! But since California also has a wine industry, the two would be a natural fit .

And I admit I was inspired by this article.
