Lord Liaden
Re: Pulp Hero Resources HERO System pulp gaming websites: Hero Pulp, probably the most broadly useful of all such websites. Many period vehicle and weapon stats with background and illos, character Package Deals, and writeups for famous fictional characters. Amazing Adventures! Adaptation of the setting and some of the game mechanics from White Wolf's Adventure! game, with firearms and NPCs fully statted. Thrilling True Tales!!!, with campaign background and logs, NPCs and optional "fate point" rules. The Odyssey League. Good campaign background and well-designed NPCs. Daredevils. More interesting NPCs. General pulp gaming websites: The Pulp Avengers. Excellent essay for GMs on running pulp campaigns. The Empire Club. No game stats, but many colorful characters heroic, villainous and neutral, plus extensive campaign logs covering several pulp subgenres. General pulp background websites: Dirty 30s. Excellent compilation of historical info on the era: timeline, culture, weapons and vehicles, fashion, price guide, slang, etc. Pulp Project 1557. All sorts of materials for pulp gaming, including biographies, city maps, campaign outlines and plot seeds, and links to other sites. The Pulp.Net. Detailed background on the history of pulp magazines and notable characters therefrom, with tons of additional links.
teh bunneh
Re: Pulp Hero Resources I picked up a program from Best Buy a few weeks ago called National Geographic Maps: The Complete Collection. It was only about $30, and it (supposedly) contains every fold-out map ever printed from the last 80 years of National Geographic. I haven't gone through every map, but it's an 8-disk collection and it has an absolute s**tload of maps in it. It probably has maps of Europe, Africa, and South America from the 30s and 40s (I don't have it loaded up on this computer so I can't say for sure what's on it). I'm positive it will come in handy for globe-trotting adventures, and I seriously recommend it for all mapophiles. Bill.
