What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now?

This one never fails to choke me up:

Music & Lyrics: John Popper

If ever you are feeling like you're tired

And all your uphill struggles leave you headed downhill

If you realize your wildest dreams can hurt you

And your appetite for pain has drinken its fill

I ask of you a very simple question

Did you think for one minute that you are alone

And is your suffering a privilege you share only

Or did you think that everybody else feels completely at home

Just wait

Just wait

Just wait

And it will come

If you think I've given up on you you're crazy

And if you think I don't love you well then you're just wrong

In time you just might take to feeling better

Time is the beauty of the road being long

I know that now you feel no consolation

But maybe if I told you and informed you out loud

I say this without fear of hesitation

I can honestly tell you that you make me proud

Just wait

Just wait

Just wait

And it will come

Just wait

Just wait

Just wait

And it will come

If anything I might have just said has helped you

If anything I might have just said helped you just carry on

Your rise uphill may no longer seem a struggle

And your appetite for pain may all but be gone

I hope for you and cannot stop at hoping

Until that smile has once again returned to your face

There's no such thing as a failure who keeps trying

Coasting to the bottom is the only disgrace

Just wait

Just wait

Just wait

And it will come

Just wait

Just wait

Just wait

And it will come

Just wait

Just wait

Just wait

And it will come

I think that I'm about to show my eclectic music tastes:

So, by Peter Gabriel (definitely among the top 5 albums of the 80's, period)

Hysteria and Pyromania, by Def Leppard

1 from the Beatles

40 Licks from the Rolling Stones

Drops of Jupiter from Train

Southern Harmony and Musical Companion by the Black Crows

The Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, and Wish you Were Here by Pink Floyd

Led Zeppelins I, II, III, IV, & Physical Graffiti

U2: War, The Joshua Tree (also among the top 5 albums of the 80's), Achtung Baby, & All That You Can't Leave Behind

Queen's Greatest Hits volumes I and II

Garbage and v. 2.0 from Garbage

Various and sundry other singles by the following:

Crosby, Stills, Nash (and sometimes Young)

Yes

Kansas

Rush

Paul Simon

The Police

Jet

Boston

Fleetwood Mac

Chicago (only pre-80's)

Concrete Blonde

Creedence Clearwater Revival

...and a whole lot more.

In all, I have about 17 hours of music (almost a whole gB!) saved on my PC that I put on party shuffle--it's better than any radio station, because I don't have any song that I would rate less than 3 stars out of five.

Oh, and I use iTunes. :) I used to use MSs WMP, but I find that AAC/mp4s take up a *lot* less space than WMAs and mp3s (depending on bitrate, as much as 50% less).

17 hours?

Pshaw... *checks iTunes*

Let's see... 2,800 songs, 7.5 days. :D
