ghost-angel
Re: Your "2006" Pet Gaming Projects It may be easier just to ask the writers to bring out a consolidated index and have it put in the free stuff... I want to say that's been asked before and Steve, who has all those indexes, has relpied that he would rather spend the time working on new things. With 50 books out currently it's no small task to consolidate all those indexes. On the other hand if Steve gave me digital copies of all of them I would do it. tribe
Re: Your "2006" Pet Gaming Projects A couple of pbem friends and I have decided to create our own pbem universe, Uberworld. We had spare time back in July 2005 and were going a little stir crazy with NPCs and artwork, and then we thought about playing with different sections of a campaign world which were usually skipped over in order to focus on the USA. So we started looking at other countries. I had a go at India, Pakistan and the rest of the sub Continent; Noah had a go at Mexico, Europe and a really good job on the Middle East. Then I had a crack at my home country, Australia and its neighbours. More people joined in, such as Neil who had some great things in store for China and Japan. And then six months passed and it was 2006. So 2006 will see us try and take this world we have played with as creators, and make it into a functioning pbem gaming community with multiple campaigns and a growing list of characters, stories and NPCs. At the moment I've got a Teen (young 20s) Champions game ready to roll in February, and there are a few 'short adventure' stand alone type stories where we will use a different GM and set of players in games which will have a set time frame and goal - and probably last for a few months. Should be a great year. Never done this before though.
ghost-angel
Re: Your "2006" Pet Gaming Projects So... I asked Steve for all the Indices for every book HERO has published to date. He complied. Do you know what the text file of 50ish gaming books indices looks like? Right then.. ApocalypseZero
Re: Your "2006" Pet Gaming Projects I currently run a 350 pt Champions/Dark Champions game titled Dawn of Fate. It's sorta like the X-Men Movies and such, but with a bit more fearful of the 'empowered' people and everyone who's empowered gained them after an unconscious situation (be it sleeping, knocked out, anesthetic for surgery, etc.). The truth behind it all is known only to me. (Side Note: I run this as both a HERO game for my IRL group and as a Heroes Unlimited game for a PBP group.) My current project I am working on is an alternate Fantasy HERO setting. It is basically Magna Carta: Tears of Blood/Crimson Stigmata, but I am also going to incorporate more ideas of my own to give more depth and richness. In the end, it will probably have some 'source or references' to things from Exalted to Confrontation/Rag'narok. In a way, I could call it 'Everything I've ever seen and thought Cool' setting. megaplayboy
Re: Your "2006" Pet Gaming Projects 1. creating a game setting for supers which incorporates all the ideas I've been developing, and which is adaptable for any power level 2. coming up with guidelines for an "epic level" supers game(1000+ point starting PCs) which are both workable and fun. 3. running and occasionally playing in said game setting. TheRavenIs
Re: Your "2006" Pet Gaming Projects Get my Time Travel/Dimensional travel game up and running. Continue to run my Jump Start (Champions Game) so it can get into time sync with the other game it's tried to. In the Jump Start Game; 1. Get a magic based team up and running, that part depends on my players. 2. Get more Heroes and Hero Teams introduced, that part depends on my players. 3. Firmly establish the First Team on the JS Universe as the Primary Team. 4. Eventually create a second commom origion team in that universe. As a player in what we call the Defenders Universe; 1. Get my Time Travel/Dimensional Traveler C active as PC. 2. Get one of C's memory back as much as it able. (Wolverine type) 3. Get a former Artifical Person Hero now Real Girl Hero to the point that she has a team of other strange or odd heroes together. 4. Get a war over so that all the C's in space can get back to a more normal life. For now that is all for Hero.
Cancer
Re: Your "2006" Pet Gaming Projects The cross-genre family RPG, referenced 3 or 4 items up, has LAUNCHED! One full session and two half-sessions so far. Approximately nothing to post here about it, though. I have concepts for the maps, but have only just started learning how to use CC2 (reference), and I need to order the city builder extension for that. Most of the actual work has been in defining personalities of various NPCs ... my kids seem to be choosing lots of interaction, which is hardly surprising considering they have just arrived in a large monastery school. I have taken the fast way out on that ... I've plugged in what I remember from people I knew long ago and far away (so my notes are cryptic and idiosyncratic in the extreme ... "Louis Jones", "Lynne Curry", etc.).

OddHat
Re: Your "2006" Pet Gaming Projects My Alternate Wold Newton Superhero Timeline, which you have linked to on Mike Surbrook's site, was created with the permission and approval of Win Scott Eckert and Al Schroeder. It is based on multiple sources, one of which is the Wold Newton timeline maintaned by Mr. Eckert. Much of it is my original work, including the organiztion of the timeline and write ups of associated characters. Several key characters are also original creations inspired by multiple sources. Citations are included with each character write up. So, basically, it's my project, unless Win has started posting here.

I really feel I need more, and there is not much there. So, I'm going to my fallback idea, Aarklash HERO (Confrontation/Ragnarok, land is called Aarklash). I am currently taking the various 'Powers, Skills, Abilities, etc' of the Minis and giving them HERO equivalents. Most of them are quite easy to modify, one 2-3 difficult ones, but I may not use all of them. Once I get this done, writing up individual models with HERO stats. It would help if everything wasn't mainly in French either. But I am doing what I can, and I feel I have alot more to work with. I'll keep updating. Wolfe-Chan
Re: Your "2006" Pet Gaming Projects Here is a quick update on my Ninja Hero campaign I have been working on. I even have a title now for the campaign. Sunday Afternoon Shaolin Kung Fu Theatre! That is the tone I am trying for in the campaign a light hearted comical and fun Sunday afternoon shaolin kung fu romp, with moments of seroiusness and tragedy. Mostly fun tho. With Anthro Characters, Master Villains, Evil Secret societies trying to bring down the governement and control the world. Sort of a more cinematic version of Street Fighter. Here is the Thread I started on the game to get some ideas for anthro Characters. http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37454 I am working on a webpage for the campaign but I need to learn XHTML first. It should be up in a month or so. So far I have been having a lot of fun just need a player or two more for the game and I will get it started. Hopefully some time this month.
