Whoohoo!

Just sent off the commisions for Worldmaker's Tyros the Conqueror and my own Robotman. Two or three weeks we'll see more of Storn's fine work.

He said he was working on a 6 person team pic. I wonder if he would post a link to that one? Could be very cool.

That's my commission. I'm sure he'll post it and if he doesn't I can send it to whomever. :)

Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread.

Jeff, your commission is being inked RIGHT now.

And if y'all are wondering WHY i haven't been posting much, here it is:

It is about the upcoming cover, in progress, for Pitch Black's "Razor-Edged Arcanum". Now called Sages & Swords, name change while I was working on the piece. An short story anthology of wizards, magic and such.

If you are curious to see the process, I will repeat the link:

and the painting itself:

Excellent work Storn.

The detail in the crystal ball is awesome. Too many artists punk out with what is being scryed. You get black swirls or what have you. Very cool. Are these specific characters or your own creations for the cover? The sorceress looks awesome. The third eye thing on her forehead makes her beg to be written up.

Nice

Unveiled the halftrack pic on the website. Here was the first response:

Jesus Christ! Who did the artwork on Halftrack. My god that's good. Heck I can't even draw a straight line.:)

I've had a half-dozen other notes, all along in the same vein.

I think its a hit. Thanks a lot, guys...

Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread.

When/if I ever come into a large amount of money, I'm going to commission Storn to do the artwork for my Tarot villains. All 22 of them.

Plus the four types of agents, of course.

Now... where did I put that spare $2000?

Check the couch cushions. That's where I found my Porche

Jeff T's Millennium Knights.

Jeff gave me an exhaustive description. I hope I did his team justice. To those others that I have commissions to do for, I will be getting to them slowly and surely. Origins is eating up a bit of time due to prep. But I'll be taking sketches to do with me.

Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread.

The Millennium Knights look great Storn. I like the common theme in equipment (goggles and radios) and uniforms. Very nice.

Jeff T, any interest in sharing some details on the team members?

Front row, left to right: Ranger, Mystic, Midnight, & Dynamo

Rear: Novastar (flying) and Powerhouse

I can go into more exhaustive detail later if anyone is interested.

Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread.

re: The Millenium Knights

These are not characters that I game with, they are the main characters in the stories that I've been writing for my own personal enjoyment for the six months or so. As such, they have not been fully statted out. It's probably obvious to everyone that in the medium that I'm using them I don't really want their characteristics and powers broken down as specifically as a fully-statted Champions character would be.

I'm not far into the stories so I don't have a huge world fleshed-out, so I right now they exist in the current CU with some minor changes. The changes will grow larger the more I write though.

Enough babbling. Essentially, they are based off the Project: Sunburst plot. The 'Crypt' was moved to Millenium City in early 1999 after Radium discovered its whereabouts elsewhere. Soon after, an experimental energy detection device of Dr. Silverback's picks up on the unique energy signatures of the 14 comatose 'subjects' in the Crypt, he alerts PRIMUS/UNTIL (no Champions at that time), one thing leads to another, yadda yadda. Anyway, Silverback is given 'custody' of the subjects. For some reason they did not die from the experiment. Their bodies slowly metamorphasized, but the shock to their systems was so great they cannot revive themselves on their own. Silverback, however, is able to revive eight subjects with no difficulties. The other six he discovers have suffered some type of brain damage and he places them in stasis till he can find a cure for them.

I'll leave the rest for the stories. Perhaps I'll post them at some point.

Here's a couple spoilers for those still interested at this point.

*Spoiler one:

- The 'damaged' subjects: In actuality, I'm saving them for later. They'll be revived somehow in a year or two and become some sort of a psychotic, homicidal 'anti-version' of the Knights.

*Spoiler two:

- Yes, I said eight. Notice there are only six Knights. The other two are also for plot purposes similar to the 'damaged' subjects. One is, shall we say, quite ambivalent towards the 'superhero thing'. He'll appear on a recurring basis in brief stints and, if necessary, may be brought in as a 'replacement' Knight in the future. The other joins the Knights but is slain early on. It serves several purposes: as a means of emphasizing the threat level of the slayer, to show the dangers of superheroing in general, and to 'humble' the team enough to make them question their choice as superheroes.

More on the specific abilities and backgrounds of the individual Knights later for those who are interested.
