Re: Bizarre Spell Ideas

Animate Furniture

This spell summons a spirit to animate a piece of furniture, which then moves about in a very Disney-esque fashion. A varient summons little critters who will slavishly try to make you happy.

Whistle while you work

Whistling this helpful tune helps you by giving you extra REC.

Just a spoonful of sugar... In the most delightful way.

This enchantment placed on anything edible will help make everything delightful. As to be expected, this enchantment is addictive and fattening.

Anime Dead

Summons up legions of the undead, but they all look like Sailor Moon for some reason.

Helpful friends

Similar to animate furniture. You get +5 overall skill levels. The special effect of this spell is a swarm of different cute small woodland creatures which just turn up and behave in a disturbingly cute anthropomorphic fashion. Accompanying any singing appopriately if singing is taking place.

Ubiquitous Orchestra

Possibly a curse. Or disadvantage. Or a house rule for the genre.

Whenever the character enters or exits, their theme tune is played. Whenever the character sings, they rapidly transition from acapella to full accompaniment by an unseen orchestra.

Re: Bizarre Spell Ideas

Summon Whatever

when cast, this allows you to summon one creature of any type, chosen at random. It could be a mouse, a dragon, a demon, an angel, a badger, a termite.... anything. You'll never know until it appears.

A variant of this spell merely causes the next creature the caster comes across for the first time to say "You summoned me?"

Deus Ex Machina: Summons a pair of Giant Mecha which will then fight to the death' date=' the winner then repairs the electronic or mechanical item that was closest to the caster at the time of casting.[/quote']

Summons Person: casting this spell will cause the nearest person (other than the caster) to be given a writ from a court having jurisdiction, requiring said person to appear in court in answer to a suit being brought against him/her. The details of the suit are for the GM to decide, but should be appropriate to the person's recent actions.

IOW, the person is served a summons.

Here's a good one:

Foysen Theft.

It was once believed that faeries could steal the "foysen" (food value) out of your food. You could eat and eat and still be hungry, and gradually starve to death.

I would guess this was an attempt to explain what was happening when someone had a parasite like a tapeworm, or perhaps a wasting illness.

In Hero terms, a spell like this is probably a Transform, either on the food or the person.

Re: Bizarre Spell Ideas

What time is it? It's Druid time!!: This spell can only be cast by a druid. It tells him the time, --- by dropping a complete megalithic circle around him! The caster then uses his druidic knowledge to tell the time, and walks away leaving the circle of stone right where they landed.

Of course, this means a lot of very big heavy stones dropped on the area around him (from about ten meters up), and those stones stay when the druid goes.

Lots of Side Effect only affects the environment near the character.

Everything but the Kitchen Sink

Target area is showered in all sort of kitchen equipment and accessories (including cabinets and counters). This results in a rather large pile. But there is no sink or associated plumbing.

Everything and the Kitchen Sink

A varient of the above that includes an old fashion porcelain coated cast iron sink at the end for good measure.

You Are What You Eat

when cast on a person, this enables him to consume his own flesh without feeling any pain. Any bites he inflicts upon himself are instantly cauterized, meaning they will not bleed or become infected. This sort of auto-cannibalism is used when the alternative would be starvation: the damage the subject causes himself will heal at the normal rate and can be healed by spells or powers. Any lost appendages will not grow back unless magic or some other power is used.

Re: Bizarre Spell Ideas

You Are Who You Know: The next time the victim of this spell thinks of a friend or aquaintance (but not enemy), he turns into the person thought of, complete with that person's knowledge as of that moment. Thus, there's almost no way to convince him he's not who he thinks he is.

Never **** Anybody Crazier Than Yourself: This lifelong curse insures that any time the victim has sex with anyone (or anything), he will become slightly farther from "perfectly sane" than his sex-partner is (or, slightly less "perfectly sane" than he was before the sex, if he's "crazier" than the sex-partner already).

Well, of course you can't. He IS who he thinks he is, now.

Re: Bizarre Spell Ideas

Create Frock

The original spell was designed to free people who had been transformed into stone. However, soon after the secret of transforming rock back into living flesh was revealed, this simplier spell came into use.

This spell simply transforms rocks and stones to the equivalent of amount of boneless flesh which when consumed, tastes just like chicken or perhaps iguana. Nobody is quite sure what frock is. Hence the phrase, "What the frock is that?"

Well' date=' there should then be a summon frock, dispel frock and prismatic frock spell :)[/quote']

I suppose you could summon a still-living frock creature. Would that be a frock golem? (Sung to Rock Lobster, "Frock Golem!") Of course, thinking of prismatic frock makes me think that it is what a normal dragon eats to become a multi-headed chromatic dragon. :help:
