Jack, A Post Apocalypse Hero

So I had this character concept for a game on hero central but I'm not sure if it's still active. Jack is a simple, almost easy going kind of guy, he doesn't really get mad except in his dreams. Moving through the desolated world in a kind of Zen like calm. The character was designed to fit into a Post Apocalypse world of zombies and nuclear fallout so he's a bit on the cinematic side as far as his combat style goes. Enjoy...

Background/History: Jack knows two things, cars and how to avoid the cities, he really only knows one thing well. One a very few people with a working car Jack moves from junkyard to junkyard constantly looking for spare parts and petrol to keep it running. Unlike most people in the modern wasteland Jack doesn’t carry a gun. It’s too hard to find shotgun shells and Jack’s fingers really don’t fit most pistols. What he does have is a propeller blade from a UH-60 that’s served him all the same. Jack would be a lot happier if he could just work on cars all day but inevitably raiders or zombies or whatever comes around sends him moving on looking for a new place to squat for a time.

Re: Jack, A Post Apocalypse Hero

It's cool to see a post-apocalyptic character who isn't a complete Mad Max rip-off complete with shotgun and muscle car. While Jack is a loner like Max, his reasons are different. And interesting. I particularly like his fear of cities and nightmares. Especially the thing about him being smarter in his dreams. But my favorite part is Jack's Blade. It's one of those things that makes me say, "Why didn't I think of that?"

Re: Jack, A Post Apocalypse Hero

Really it's more of a cinematic effect than anything explained. It is the blade that cuts through anything. Part of Jack's concept is a play on the master swordsman. Unlike the Samurai who has studied for years and obtained some masterful enlightenment Jack simply is Jack. "He's taken care of his Blade and it's done right by him."
