Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

FemmaNessie-As a young teenage lass, a disheartened (She'd just been stood up again) Rachel McLoon saw men pulling something (a string of tires actually) from the Loch and then hauled it out to put in the bed of their truck! She knew in her Scottish heart that these men must have hunted and killed Nesse! As they were on the other side of the lake, she tried to swim to them, dropping what she was carrying to get to them. Sadly, chemicals in the water (She would later blame the men, but in truth it was a mix of Haggis, pop rocks and Pepsi Clear that she herself had dropped in her haste to hit the water) triggered a mutation within her causing her to gain aquatic powers. She could never be a part of 'man's world again' with gills and all, or so she told herself, and now blames them for all wrongs in the world at worst, or considers them twits at best (To be fair, she does have Major Compassion as example before her quite often). Convinced if men could just be more like women, the world would be perfect, and seeing every 'weekly cause' in gender war perspective, she uses her powers for sabotage , sneaking, and yes, beating people up. A pocket brick with quick regeneration as well, she is hard to keep down in a fight. However, she did once slip into catatonia when investigating a domestic squabble. The couple in question were both women, and having no one with male genitalia to blame, Femmeanessie's mind shut down.

She has since recovered realizing that it was probably male dominated television that influenced the poor ladies.

( I should probably stop now before someone hurts me)

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

BMOC is not only capable of growing to be the largest, most impressive, and sexiest male physical specimen on any given college or university campus, he is capable of recruiting 64 "agents" from any such campus in a very short period of time. It's often said that the ladies he recruits are more into him than the cause and the men are more into the ladies than the cause (with roughly 10% of either group oppositely interested in joining up), but that doesn't stop them from hauling around The New Peace Armada's stuff, forming the core of protest marches, engaging in vandalism, pelting superheroes with eggs, and generally mucking up whatever joint they happen to be milling about.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

I think Badger added the seventh and final member of the Globe. Officially it ought to be Badger who chooses the theme, name, and number of members for the next group.

But since he didn't, I will.

Theme: This group despises (though does not fear) new technology. Convinced that modern technology is detrimental to both individuals and communities, the Neo-Luddites do all they can to convince others that new technology is untrustworthy, dangerous, or otherwise undesirable. They might cause a new robot to go haywire, make sure that hackers get hold of personal data on millions of people, or assassinate scientists who move too far too fast.

Name: The Neo-Luddites a.k.a. The Nuddites

Number of Members: 5

Out of topic

I thought Capulet and Montague counted as one character, my bad.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Since I count 5 of 8 so far for the current team on the board.

The Hippie Biker:

A reject from the 60s. Attended Woodstock, and it changed his whole outlook. Became a dope-smoking anti-war protester. And never moved beyond. Now in his early 60s, he still protests. He joined this group because he just likes to protest and smoke dope. (and with his scraggly white beard, plays the mall Santa in December to supplement income). He also possesses a Harley. Oddly, despite being anti-war, he does get into his share of scrapes, go figure.

Appearance: Essentially looks like Santa Claus. White scraggly beard. White ponytail. Slightly portly belly. Wears biker clothes. Rides a souped up Harley, with stun rockets hidden in a compartment on the sides.

Note: Somewhat modeled after a guy I know.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Foreman Quite literally For-Men champion of anti-misandry, and anti Diversity...but he never says that outloud. Well..he'd like to be.

had every advantage growing up, smart, sociable, good looking, came from a moderately wealthy background. However, if you don't actually apply yourself you don't get very far. Never picked up his father's drive for success or his grandfather's ingenuity. Never noticed his mother's creative drive or anything else. His family didn't instill a sense of entitlement in him, he managed that on his own.

When his life didn't turn out the way he thought it should he looked to blame someone. He blames everyone. However, smart enough to hide his contempt he has set himself up as a philosophical foil to his team mate Feminessie. As long as the Armada agrees to protect the rights of Men he's cool with it. He also gets to play a hero of sorts, wear a costume and take his frustrations out on others.

When he was unable to get a managerial position he took a administrative position at a chemical plant. One super-battle later he had tremendous endurance and durability. Foreman is a scrapper, strong but not threatening your average brick, he can take a beating and has developed an angry, punishing (to both combatants) combat style. Wears a costume based on stylized greek warriors ...think 300 but with a little more modesty (but only a little) and a lot more armor. He has black hair, green eyes, and is rather hairy to tell the truth.

Not a very vocal member of the team. Doesn't do face time beyond a few "Equality for All" and "Meritocracy" lines in his brief interviews. He thinks the rest of the team is crazy.

Typhon an idealistic if single minded young man who can summon "Pollution Elementals" to attack polluters. Smog creatures, Sludge monsters, Garbage Golems and the like. his powers have the positive effect of drawing local pollutants to a concentrated form for use in his elemental bodies and when defeated they actually disipate going to an extra-dimensional space he calls the "Cancer."

On the downside they're destructive and he's not always in total control they can escape and his team has to help stop them

Aside from his summoning abilitiy Typhon is very hard to harm (and shut up), has near total life support, and can fly. He makes allusions to mythical Greek heritage.

He looks like a tanned muscle beach bum in a black costume with white belt, gloves, boots and a chest symbol that is a white globe. He has brown hair and no mask.

Team Name: Counter Measures, members 6.

Despite grandiose proclamations and a stated objective to free the arts from the corporate devils who choke it, Counter Measures is a group of thieves with a desire to "Seem" and live in the limelight.

The Diva has no musical talent to speak off, but has a massive ego --and the willpower to back it up. Gifted with a vast set of telekinetic abilities (and, more dangerously, the control for finer manipulation) , The Diva takes devious delight in turning people into her own personal audience of puppets, forcing them to bow and clap over everything she does. When she gets really vindictive, she's been known to make agents and producers and critics sign contracts or wills favoring her (clenching their jaws all the while so they can't scream) and then make them take a flying leap out a seven story building to their deaths.

Don't tell her otherwise, but The Diva has a tin ear and below-average looks even with costuming and make-up. The Diva also likes to refer to herself in the third person.

Backbeat: Stereotypically, a supervillain drummer has generally been the team brick. This one is the team's martial artist. He's a master of Escrima, wielding titanium drumsticks with mind-boggling speed and accuracy, whether he's hitting the drums or his enemies' heads.

(And when he plays a crowd, he really plays a crowd....)

Beware the hypnotic Metronome! A mysterious masked figure, Metronome almost never speaks. He can produce a trance inducing effect on those within listening range. Those within the effect simply stop whatever they're doing and remain perfectly still. Sometimes he allows people to remember their period of stasis, but usually they have complete memory loss. When you hear the soft "tick, tick, tick..." it's already too late.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

New Theme (see how I am?) Music Theory

Team Name: Counter Measures, members 6.

Composition is a wanna-be music composer who has collected over a hundred rejection notes for scores he's submitted to various orchestras, famous conductors, and music academies. He also happens to be a matter-manipulator, mostly rearranging molecules within an object (so he could turn, say, a section of solid wall into a doorway). With intense concentration and effort (and a little luck) he can also transmute matter at the elemental level (for instance, turning gold to lead -- he hasn't been able to do the reverse to date). On the job, he has been known to bring along and use a boombox to provide musical accompaniment (of his own pieces, generated via computer) unless silence is of the essence -- and even then, sometimes a teammate has to put his/her foot down to keep Composition from "sharing" his music.

Composition is mostly motivated by revenge for his many rejections, though the money that Counter Measures steals on the job is a very nice perk. Opponents could turn his head by complimenting his music (which is, to be frank, horrid), and he'll go into a rage against anybody insulting his "creations."

Axe! Andy Xavier Ellings was a mega star who got screwed when he didn't read the fine print on a 'sell your songs online' contract. Unlike his usual 'hardcopy' sales where he got a fair percentage, downloads made him nothing! When his suit against it was dismissed, he was mockingly told 'maybe you should bone up on your tech there?'

Well, he did. He vanished for five years, plunged the last of his money into educating himself, and returned with a high tech lethal weapon that some describe as a 'switch blade army guitar'. It has over a dozen settings, one of them an 'axe' that can cut through almost anything. It can also discharge voltage at a foe, create a sonic burst, and yes, even works as a musical instrument. Determined now to stick it to the 'mindless minions of music industry orthodoxy' , Axe considers himself the leader of the team. (Not that the others agree)

New theme: The Seven Deadly Sins

Team Name: The Sin-dicate

Number: 7 (Maybe 8 if you want to throw in some minions)

Note: Seven 'lords of vice' , mostly running things akin to organized crime operations, but often tangling with superheroes as well. They meet together to discuss their mutual domains and make sure they don't step on each others' toes too much, but each is powerful in one way or another in his or her own way.

Slacker. Ted Wally is a twenty something college drop out that did nothing but play video games. He never leaves the house. When his rich uncle died and left Wally with several million dollars and a technology company, he didn't even show up to the reading of the will. He sold the company because he had no interest in working four hours a week. Before selling the company he had an experimental robot initially designed for space exploration reconfigured a bit so he could operate it from an X-Box controller. He was recruited into the Sin-Dicate to portray Sloth, which he is surprisingly comfortable with. He never leaves his apartment but joins them as his remote controlled robot... when he can.

Pica Pica, the embodiment of Envy, is a black-and-white bird/human hybrid with the ability to duplicate (up to 10 total) and the ability to impart bad luck onto opponents. (The relative level of bad luck is reduced depending upon how many duplicates are active.) His villainous identity is the scientific name for the Common Magpie and he shares that bird's fascination with shiny objects, especially gems and jewelry.

Edit: Pica Pica controls a lot of gangs in the area, often directing them into break-ins, muggings, and other thefts.

From Laos, you see. Here illegally. I have other regions if you prefer: Ukraine, Senegal, Guatemala, Chile, Romania, Algeria. If you like a more 'local' treat, I can get you a sweet but hungry corn pone from Kentucky. Valley girl perhaps? Texas cowboy?

Tell me your pleasure, Monsieur, and I'll tell you my price.

Little is known about Desiree, even what his or her true gender is. Whatever perverted and depraved Lusts a client wishes to indulge in, Desiree is more than willing to satisfy them, eagerly sending in minions to engage in kidnapping, human trafficking, slavery. Desiree is also highly skilled in toxicology and pharmacology, specializing in drugs and chemicals for brainwashing purposes. For particularly challenging "prizes", Desiree will undertake the training and "breaking in" in person.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

The Berserkerer (no, I didn't stutter, that is spelled correctly) strangely appears to be the calmest person you might meet. No matter what is said, no matter what happens, he most likely greets it with a sigh and a half smile. If you could see beneath the surface, however, you'd be stunned by the sheer volume of anger and hatred welling up inside him. So how does he stay so calm, you might ask? Well, that's easy! He transfers all of his anger, all of his rage, to others. Normally, it spreads across a wide area, slowly but surely building up until everybody around him begins to argue and fight. But if Berserkerer chooses, he can focus all of his wrath on one unlucky person, quite possibly turning that person into a raging, incoherent maniac with an insatiable bloodlust.

More riots have been attributed to the Berserkerer than the authorities care to count, and there's a rumor that he even started a war in Africa once.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Pride

Known simply as the Orator, the leader, the founder of the Sin-dicate is not a criminal mastermind. He doesn't even have a rap-sheet. Officially.... The Orator is not only the physical embodiment of Pride, fully convinced he's God's gift to...well...everything, he's also a preternaturally skilled orator, capable of talking people into and out of acts of incredible charity or heinous crime...able to convince virtually anyone that he's as good as he thinks he is. It's his "oratory skills" that make him practically invisible as a member of the Sin-dicate...he has no record because he can convince you he's to good for something you just watched him do.

The Orator has no known identity besides as the Orator, and even that one is shadowy. He prefers to do his work one on one rather than in the public eye. He has a number of VERY loyal go-betweens through which his clientèle may contact him, and directs his talents to the greatest of pass-times, upsetting the political applecart. From generating brain-washed assassinations like it were passing the common cold, to influencing elections, to influencing legal and judicial decisions, Orator is available as a meddler in all things political, to the highest bidder.

He also acts as the "face" of the Sin-dicate, talking other members out of trouble (and sometimes into it as suits his motives).

Orator is well-educated, and formed the blue-print for the Sindicate so that the major crimelords in the area could better confront the growing threats posed by law enforcement, super-powered and otherwise.

Avarice

"Boss" Dominic Marelli is THE man to see if you need anything done in this city. The representative of Avarice in the syndicate, Boss Marelli controls most of the muscle in this town. He owns the casinos, he owns the cops, and most importantly, he owns the politicians. He has all the power and money any man could want. And he wants more. Marelli is the most "old-school" of the 7 and has no known superpowers, but he has nearly unlimited resources because his family has been in this business in one form or another for nearly a century. Marelli finds some of the other members of the Sindicate distasteful, but the Orator was able to convince him that it was in his best interest to join.... Marelli sill hasn't forgiven him for it, either....

NEW THEME:

Light. They call themselves the Guardian Angels, and some people herald them as such, but many other people see what they do as tyranny and self-gratification. The Angels are devoted to a single ideal: creating Utopia. They even agree on what that Utopia should be. The problem is that they don't only dispatch the villains and crimelords that stand in their way, but also the authorities, and the supers, and even the civilians bold enough to stand against them. Despite the fact that many do not agree with Angels' methods or even their vision of the perfect world, the Guardian Angels have excellent PR, able to spin not only villains in a negative light, but "corrupt" authorities, supers with "unnecessary hero-complexes" who are "unwilling to contribute to real change," and "unruly" civilians. Because of this, the public is divided as to whether their cosmically powered saviors, or despotic and tyrannical villains.

EDIT: I think I might have gone a little overboard on my theme....

EDIT, Part deaux: 9 members.

EDIT: I think I might have gone a little overboard on my theme....

(You forgot to say how many members - please edit to include that or provide a new post with the number.)

One of the most devoted members of the Guardian Angels is Shepherd's Crook, a soft-spoken former social worker from New York City. Jim Robinson has seen some of the worst of humanity, including drug addiction, muggings, drive-by shootings, and other inner-city violence. But the key event was when a drug addict broke into his home and shot Robinson's wife. As she died in Robinson's arms, something in him snapped. But it wasn't just a personality change -- the event also triggered dormant psionic powers, including the ability to control the thoughts and decisions of others. Looking up through his tears, rays of light shot from Robinson's eyes to those of the junkie. Robinson quietly commanded the junkie to kill himself -- and he did so without hesitation.

Taking the name of Shepherd's Crook, he vowed to put an end to such crimes against humanity by taking a more proactive role against what he sees as injustice (whether illegal, immoral, or just plain wrong in his eyes). He sees the bulk of humanity as sheep -- mild, meek animals in need of guidance and direction, whether they'll admit it or not. And he sees himself as the intrument to guide and control them, at the behest of the Guardian Angels.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

His wings are pure white.

He wields a fiery sword.

He offers no mercy, only justice.

And he claims he's the Archangel Michael.

A skirmish on the border of Lebanon and Israel led to both sides being slaughtered by him. He walked through the halls of an Ohio prison, killing not only everyone on death row and maximum security, but seven guards as well. Not because the guards tried to stop him, but it was later found out that those specific guards were already being investigated by Internal Affairs for their own crimes. He stepped into a Dublin cathedral and beheaded the priest and his superiors who had placed him there knowing what he had done for decades to the children. And in front of a national audience he incinerated the hate-spewing lunatic and his small band of followers who was protesting the soldier's funeral and dared to claim they spoke for God.

Heaven help the earth if he actually is what he says....

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

The man known as Perfection appears to be a human normal, but a perfect human normal (at least physically). He even seems to glow with an inner light, though that is more perception than reality. He claims to have achieved such perfection through rigorous training, a strict diet, and top schooling -- but the truth is that he is the product of an experiment by a mutant supremacy group trying to force evolution on the non-mutants of the world. His physical and mental characteristics increased to the top limits for a normal human, and he gained the ability to spot (and often exploit) the tiniest weakness, the smallest vulnerability, in his opponents' defenses. Through study of his foes, he can often anticipate their attacks, exploiting their least hesitation to get out of harm's way.

Of course, he is obsessive-compulsive to the N-th degree, expecting perfection not only from himself but from friends and teammates. (He's more than happy to exploit imperfection in his enemies.) Because of his expectations of perfection and his willingness (almost eagerness) to point out mistakes, he often rubs people the wrong way.
