Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Parity believes very strongly in the Code of Hammurabi. Well, parts of it anyway. She's always liked the idea of an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. That was Hamurabi, right? Or maybe it was a Taoist thing. She gets confused.

But she doesn't get confused about what happens to bodies of land and water! Nuh, uh. And she knows that an eye for an eye is the just way to handle such injustices. So when somebody poisons a body of water, well, they can just figure that sooner or later Parity will get around to poisoning their body. Don't get her started on slash and burn...

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

The Guardian of Gaia A mysterious man. No one knows his true identity, he claims he is eons old. But most just think he is crazy, including his teammates. His one desire is to erradicate the parasitic species called homo sapien from HIS planet. Seems to be able to "siphon" off energies created from the manmade "trauma" created upon his planet to enhance his characteristics. But, mainly, he is content to play lawyer to eco-friendly organizations, and using info from them to give to his teammates behind the scene, and helping with tactics (if no leader has been given yet for the team, he can be it). His teammates think he absorbed too much energy one time, to make him think the way he exactly does. But, maybe he has been around eons. Whatever, his plans are brilliant, if a bit mad.

Name used as a lawyer: Samuel Oliver Plaster. (SOP as in Save Our Planet

Let's see that should be 6, what team to create, hmmm?

Team: The Big Top. Circus-themed team. Members: 9

Team: The Big Top. Circus-themed team. Members: 9

The most unpredictable member of The Big Top is Loose Cannon. As you might guess, he's a human cannonball who produces his own thrust and is fairly well protected from physical damage when performing move-through attacks. He has no control of his velocity (it's all or nothing) and he has very limited control of the direction of his flight. Personality-wise, Loose Cannon is prone to jumping into action without thinking through all the implications.

The Barker has incredible control of his vocal cords, generating sound that can pulverize concrete, lull people to follow suggestions, and even mimic sounds and voices very accurately. A very dapper man (he's never seen out of his tuxedo and top hat), he has even learned how to generate a subsonic field that repels dirt and stains from his clothing.

The Amazing Albanis are a trio of superpowered siblings eager for action (and the chance to one-up each other). Fiore is a pyrokinetic, manipulating the flames to his very will. Normally, he performs as a fire-eater, fire-juggler & fire-walker. As expected, he is immune to fire damage. His twin brother Umberto is a ferrokinetic, a master of magnetism whose abilities only enhance his talents to juggle, swallow, and spin sharp blades. Their younger sister Pia is the undeclared leader of the circus freakshow, transforming herself into the bloodthirsty "Il Mostro", a savage, shaggy seven foot giant with razor sharp teeth and claws. In this form, she feels no pain, has tremendous leaping ability and can regenerate her wounds better. More dangerous still, she loses none of her intellect in this form.

(That's 3 characters in one entry for the record)

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Old Man Jack is the team's 'roadie.' He used to work as a ringleader in a traveling circus over a century ago, but when he got too old the circus replaced him with a younger man and sent him behind the scenes. Nobody, including Jack, realized just how long he would be around! He learned everything there was to know about the offstage work in a circus, from erecting the tents to rigging the trapeze, from which games in the carnival were straight to how not to get bitten by a hungry tiger. The circus started to dwindle as the crowds found new forms of entertainment. Members started to leave, but Jack stayed. Soon he was the only techie left in the group and he did everything from scouting new sites to driving, as well as the usual build and teardown. This 70 year old man did it all, and he did it faster than an entire crew of 20 could manage. Just how he managed this is a mystery.

The circus eventually died despite Jack's best efforts. Just how he ended up with The Big Top crime group is a long, complicated story, and not very entertaining, but the important thing is that he's working with them now. He still works behind the scenes usually, building rigs, scouting target sites, driving getaway, repairs, etc.

He's not a bad guy, though he is a grouch, and these young kids just drive him crazy sometimes. This just another gig to him, however, and the nature of their activities means nothing to him. Old Man Jack looks to be in his 80s, though he's much, much older. He is remarkably spry for a man of his age moving with the grace and ease of a 60 year old. He never reveals his true age, only saying "I've been around a while..." if asked. The true nature of his prolonged life (or immortality?) is not known, but rumors of a deal with the devil seem to follow him.

He doesn't like people watching him work, so most of his powers & abilities are mysteries. It seems that he is a zero range telekinetic; if he can touch it, he can make it move and work. There may be more to it, too. He has been reported as being in up to three places at the same time, but no verification or explanation has been provided. When asked he just says "Don't be a durn fool," and walks away.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

In terms of unpredictability, close behind Loose Cannon is Giggles the Clown. True to his name, he dresses as a clown, and giggles wildly during a fight. His slapstick looks normal, but is a high-tech variety that can knock a man dozens of feet with a good whack. He prefers non-lethal weaponry, however, though still with a clown theme: super-hard Silly String, flashbang grenades disguised as rubber chickens, and the like.

Meanwhile, The Trainer is, thanks to his psychic powers, the master of a half-dozen tigers. He uses the cats mostly to cow and terrorize targets, though if someone attacks one of the tigers he has little control over how they'll respond.

Finally, Ariel is a mistress of the high-flying arts, including but not limited to the trapeze and the high wire. She can move at incredible speed with her superhuman athletic prowess, though only as long as she isn't touching the ground or the floor (and even then she's still impressive).

That rounds out the nine, so I get to call the next theme team:

The Ciphers, seven criminals who deliberately base their personas around racial stereotypes.

she(they) execute move by marital arts

Racial Stereotypes ?

Red Meat

is a devote nationalist

Here is a man that believes all the nations problems would be solved by deporting all non-citizens

He has ex-ray vision and super strength

His team is all-American

The planner of The Ciphers is Inscrutable, a soft-spoken Chinese man wearing silken robes harkening back to dynasties long, long ago. Most conversations with Inscrutable end with the other person more confused than when they started, but tactically and strategically he has few peers. (Inscrutable is fond of quoting Sun-Tsu.) He has shown proficiency in several different forms of martial arts and demonstrated the ability to hold his own against superpowered opponents. There are rumors that he has psionic powers but that he chooses not to use them.

They think he's an idiot.

They think he's uncultured.

They think he's a coward.

They laugh at him and his family when they find out he's originally from Krakow.

But when Jakob Kowalski wields his favorite weapon, the laughter turns to screams when Pole-Axe is around.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Blackface was a criminal assassin known as Deathmask before he joined the Ciphers. A complete sociopath, he reveled in killing for money, but he disliked being secretive. He created the Blackface persona in order to go public in the most shockingly offensive manner he could think of. He dresses in an old minstrel show style costume complete with the exaggerated make up. If you look closely, though, you'll see that the black area of his face is so completely dark that it appears to be a void.

Blackface projects psychic 'deathmasks' onto his victims which completely cover their faces and most of the head. The victim is blind, deaf, and the area covered by the mask goes numb. More importantly, they cannot breathe, and death by asphyxiation is not far away. The masks are stark, non-reflective black, cold to the touch and unable to be pulled away by conventional means.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Wetback is an angry young man who claims his family has lived in El Paso, Texas ever since his grandfather legally immigrated to the US from Mexico. Wetback also loves to claim a strong hatred for his cultural heritage, saying that many immigrants (both legal and illegal) are, in his words, "a bunch of whining maggots" who either abuse or at least don't deserve the freedom and opportunity the US has to offer. When his water-control powers manifested in his late teens, he loved to go down to the Rio Grande and create waves to either force illegal immigrants back or, when they were particularly persistent, flip their boats and drown them.

The truth of the matter is, his family isn't Mexican-American at all. A sociopathic racist, he created this false history and fake persona to rub salt into the wounds of his Latino targets, making them think their enemy is one of them.

WASP: is a White Angelo-Saxon protsetant who is psychic vampire who feeds off stroing emotion of hate and fear. He plays the race card...the religion card...even the sex card at times to make his victims hate him which in turn makes him stronger. He often in a very elitist manner puts down everybody around him.

Lep-hick-kahn- An Irishman who is a Drunken martial arts master. (gets his name from one time saying sarcastically when he was drunk that he was leprechaun, thanks to the booze he *hiccuped* in the middle of saying it)

So, I get the new team again? Hmm, The Time Masters a group of 10 beings from various points of time (past or future) who have been mysteriously drawn to this current timeline. (avoiding actual famous people might be preferred though not required).

The Oracle: a woman from ancient Greece blessed with stunning beauty and the power of precognition; she was brought to our timeline by the mastermind who assembled the 10 Time Masters. She is now his lover and the only one of the group who really knows his identity. Deep inside her however she loathes our era and would like to return to her own. Nightmares with horrible pedictions of the future are plaguing her since she arrived here and have gotten worse over the last months.

The Shorn One: (or Cuachicqueh) an Aztec warrior with a bald shaved head except for a long braid over the left ear, his face is painted blue on the one side and red on the other; he has sworn never to take back a step in combat.

This particular warrior was infused with magic during a blood ritual and got strong and fast. His skin hardened and his senses were sharpened. He carries an indestructable obsidian sword and only wears a loincloth. His body is athletic and very muscular and he tends to rub himself with oil each day. He was brought to our timeline after he defeated a small army of enemies all by himself.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

The Imperturbable appears to be some sort of mammal/insect hybrid. Smaller than an average human and exceedingly thin, this chitinous female of its species was either drawn forward or backward through time -- she's not saying which. She may be an alien or representative of a domestic species not yet recorded by humankind -- she ain't tellin'. Two things are for sure: 1) her force field generator essentially renders her impervious to attacks of any nature, and 2) she has not the slightest hesitation in using her ray gun to remove garbage-can-lid-sized chunks of matter from humans, animals, walls, doors, vehicles, trees... Though she clearly lacks the correct organs for hearing and speaking a human language, that doesn't seem to stop her from doing so. She has so far been willing to do whatever the mastermind directs. So far.

Tiger Eye: a gifted elder man from India who can stun or even kill his enemies by looking them into the eye. He was an officer in Ashoka's army in the Kalinga war in 256 B.C. and got a massive reputation for being utterly ruthless. After Ashoka turned into a peaceful man, this dangerous individual was chained and thrown into a deep prison pit, left to rot in his own dirt, where he was found by the time-travelling mastermind.

Cannoneer: a sailor from the early 18th century serving in the English fleet. After his ship left a small island in the Southern pacific, he slowly began to realize that something had changed. The brew that the natives had given him had triggered a mutation. He can spit in his neck bone like projectile with high speed and accuracy (it even takes the form of a bullet). By doing so his head lowers about 2 inches and slowly rises back to the original position until a new bone has grown, which takes about 10 seconds. His powers still increase, as originally it took about a day to "reload". He hopes to develop rapid fire soon.

I alwasy wanted a super villian team who attempted to steal a machine from a mad sicentist that was supposed to turn lead into gold. The machine blows up and turns the villians into gold. One is a brick, one a speedster, one is stretchy, one has electricity generation. Sadly they can't make any money off their being gold as any part of their body seperates (like hair, fingernails, etc) turns right back into normal if removed from the main body. So now they do robberies as the Gold Bandits.

Much like Imperturbable, no one save the mastermind knows where or when Flux was taken from. "She" (at least that's what the rest of the group assumes) takes on a vaguely humanoid shape, though most of the time Flux looks like a cloud of steam or fog. Her mind is highly defended against mental attacks. She's desolid, flies and is very stealthy. Normally, she is used as a scout or a spy. The one time she was pressed into an attack (something she seems loathe about doing), she enveloped a mercenary and scalded him to death.

@Mathew: How do the Gold Bandits fit into the Time Masters theme?

and as we are into villains out of time, I wonder where Imperturbable and Flux fit into that. A definite time would be great (could be as specific as say... 100 million years in the future?).

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

A wayward time traveller happened to visit the Ukraine in 1986, popping into a nuclear plant just before it was to undergo the worst accident in history (at least, the worst up to that point in time). He was trying to convince a plant manager to stop the test when the accident happened and the two were enveloped in radioactive debris from the reactor's core exploding. The time traveller took the brunt of the damage and had only moments to live, so he sent the (now irradiated) plant manager to a safe point in the future. A combination of the method of time travel and some quirks of his genetics not only kept the Russian plant manager from dying; it also gave him the ability to absorb and project radiation in various forms, as well as a subconsciously-controlled ability to travel backward or forward several seconds in time. Taking the name of the disaster which gave birth to him, Chernobyl joined the Time Masters in the hope that someday he can go back and somehow prevent the reactor accident.

@Mathew: How do the Gold Bandits fit into the Time Masters theme?

I think Mathew was wanting to propose a new theme team, not add them to the Time Masters. Once we're done with the Time Masters, we could go on to create the members of the Gold Bandits.

Mathew, the new team is proposed by whomever creates the last member of the current team. So, once three more characters are created for the Time Masters, they're done and we can go on to the next team.
