IndianaJoe3
I understand the appeal of rolling your own setting, but sometimes, you just want to bake an apple pie without having to first create the Universe (paraphrasing Carl Sagan). Scott Baker
I like to roll my own as well. However, I agree with the sentiments of borrowing ideas. And sometimes I just like to see something complete about a setting I like.
Beast
borrow? Hell steal what looks good
bluesguy
I am currently in the process of creating a campaign world. It is a lot of work. I got very stuck when it came to a pantheon so I stole the Harnic Pantheon. I am purchasing setting/area/adventure material that is generic enough (towns, villages, small areas, etc) that I can do minimal rework and plug into my campaign world. KawangaKid
RIFTS Skyrealms of Jorune Shadow World (Kulthea) Scarlet Heroes / Red Tide Spears of the Dawn Stars Without Number Ashen Stars Alien Legion Mindjammer
Ultron
New to Hero, but I've been gaming since 1978. There are MANY settings that have come and gone that I would love to see ported into Hero: Jorune Dragonlance Gamma World/ Aftermath The Imperium of Traveller Exalted Deadlands Pendragon Forbidden Kingdoms Twilight 2000 Shadowrun Freeport Battletech/ Mechwarrior Earthdawn Talislanta Melnibone Star Trek/ Star Fleet Universe Legend of the Five Rings 7th Sea Terminus V Iron Kingdoms Thimhallan There are others, but I didn't want to seem long winded. Ninja-Bear
Did anyone mention Thundarr the Barbarian? Or M.U.S.C.L.E. Men?
phoenix240
Nostalgia wise I'd like to see: Star Frontiers: I think its kind of pulp-ish light sci fi would work perfectly with Hero System Gamma World: All those freaky mutant powers would be easier to handle. bluesguy
Did anyone mention Thundarr the Barbarian? I have to say I use to watch the cartoon but I don't think it would work as a campaign background. Here is a link to a RPG site describing a Thundarr campaign
Ndreare
I would love to see Grimnoir Iron Kingdoms I have already created a conversion for Palladium and we pay Rifts in the Hero System pretty regularly.
Tasha
Amen! I've been working on a HERO 6e version of Glorantha for a while ... Talk about fracked up licences. I just read about the history of RuneQuest and Glorantha. Due to some really bad decisions that licence seems to be a tangled mess.
bubba smith
would a GI JOE campaign work?
tkdguy
would a GI JOE campaign work? I'd run/play in a GI Joe campaign. I remember seeing a write-up of Zartan long ago. I can't remember who did it.
Ninja-Bear
Me too tkdguy! Or at least I envision a PRIMUS vs VIPER agent game would run similar to it.
tkdguy
I was thinking of doing a Pulp version of it, with different characters, of course.

Yes, I think there is a 0% chance that there would ever be an official HERO system version of Runequest/Glorantha ... one can but dream ... Chris Goodwin
VIPER basically is COBRA with the serial numbers sort of filed off.
mhd
And, well, there's HYDRA...
Tasha
VIPER basically is COBRA with the serial numbers sort of filed off. Pretty sure VIPER is Marvel's Hydra with the Serial numbers filed off of it. COBRA is also Hydra with the serial numbers filed off of it. Cinniuint
For me: Greyhawk Kulthea/Shadow World SpaceMaster Honorverse Amber Space Opera Paranoia Maybe B5 a PSICorps campaign could be fun. Wasn't there a Lensman RPG setting? Someone mentioned Dragaera. Is that a published campaign setting? 'Cause that would be so cool. Mostly really prefer homegrown or home plagiarized, pardon home *researched* campaigns. Just a few settings mentioned as reminders: Darkover Pern Witch World Andre Norton's future history Telzey Amberdon Narnia The Dark is Rising A Wrinkle in Time Marvel's New Universe Riddle of Stars Liavek Humanx Commonwealth Luckily, it is getting to be my bedtime, or this post would have gotten much longer. Haven't gamed in any of the lower list, but several have contributed bits to campaigns here and there. Have had AD&D (1st ed) characters face off against Cylons, a Star Trek villain and the Well World all in one campaign. 'Night.
Vondy
Me too tkdguy! Or at least I envision a PRIMUS vs VIPER agent game would run similar to it. Both books have notes on running "commando hero," which is basically GI Joe with the serial numbers filed off.
Vondy
Pretty sure VIPER is Marvel's Hydra with the Serial numbers filed off of it. Greywind
At least COBRA had its own front band. Cold Slither.
Tasha
Could have sworn that Shadow World had Hero Stats as well as Rollmaster stats.
tkdguy
Shadow World had some Hero stats but it was light on powers/spells. I think it had some suggestions on active point totals for NPC spellcasters.
