Since US news seems to be focused only on the missing Malaysian Airlines flight and the Crimea, here are some other stories not seen in US television.

Come on when you spend 45 minutes of your hour show on the 5 minutes worth of news that is the missing plane, you have to make sacrifices on  what you let the masses know.

so 99% of the news coverage has been Oso, WA disaster here.   A mountain side gave way and buried a community in 15+ of mud, soil and rock. 

 

There were 46 structures of which ~30 were homes - 14 dead, 108 missing.

About 10 -15 miles from my house. 

So no.  We haven't really been paying attention to 'other' news.
