Rumbane
I did a bit of searching but didn't quite find anything that matched what I was looking for. This is actually for a Champions game but here seemed the more appropriate place to ask. So - if you were to let a player play an illithid what would make a fair approximation using the standard point array in Champions?
Lord Liaden
Honestly, I'd probably use the Thane (Champions Beyond for 6E/ Worlds Of Empire for 5E) as my template. They're already pretty close to illithids in appearance and powers, and their character sheets are pretty close to starting-level superheroes in point totals and Active Points/Damage Classes for Powers. BlueCloud2k2
I'd go with a standard Multipower for psionics and racial abilities, including some of the following slots: Mind Blast: RKA 2d6, AoE (16m Cone, +1/2), AVAD (Mental Defense, +1/2); (60 Active Points); No Range (-1/2), Concentration (Attacker is at half DCV while using, -1/4), Increased END Cost (x2 END, -1/2); Real Cost 26 points Tentacles: Extra Limbs; 5 Points and +15 STR; Only to grab/eat brains (-1/2); Real Cost 15 Points Eating Brains: HKA 3d6 (4d6 with STR); (45 Active Points); Can only use when grappling (-1/2); Extra Time (Full Phase, -1/2), Does not work if target has no brain or has hardened resistant PD protection over skull (-1/2), Linked to Tentacles (-1/4); Real Cost 16 Points I nommed your brains: Telepathy 12d6 (60 AP); Only works on brains that have been eaten (-2); (20 real cost)
Lucius
So I'm clear on this: the illithid is going to be one of the good guys? Lucius Alexander This is your brain on a palindromedary
