hey guys I'm trying to figure out how I would go about making augmented reality head set for my super hero's helmet.

This thing will give him a HUD that will scan things give him computer information so he can search for information on criminals or other things. He can also use it do computer stuff such as making calls or hacking into networks he can connect too. It also ill give him a read out on his and enemy health and also some other stuff such as allowing him zoom and analyze them.

Dosen't sound complicated. Depending on what you mean by scan, but mist of what your talking about is just assorted enhanced sences and detects. Radio listen and transmit. The hacking is the problematic part. If you mean he tells the helmet to hack and it does you'll need a computer programing roll and some means of the helmet to interact with things. Probably a really limited telekinesis.

zoom and analyze them.

Bonuses to KS Supervillains, KS Superheroes. (or even +3 on all KS Rolls)

This could also be bought like a computer with it's own INT and Specific Skills

Calling others is High Range Radio Hearing

Hacking Into Networks is Telepathy.

Readouts on Enemy Health Detect Health.

Zoom is Telescopic vs Sight (AKA skill levels vs Sight Range Modifiers)

Analyze is a Skill.

See how parsing that out answered your question...

Something else to remember: You can buy skills as Special powers. You won't be able to put them into frameworks but you can certainly give them limitations such as OIF. One downside of that is that anything with a characteristic roll defaults to an 8-, but you can also do things such as skill levels in Intelligence rolls with the focus limitation.

I wouldn't do it as a compound power. Yes, they all come from the same focus and represent the AR nature of the focus but you wouldn't try and jam all of a powered suit of armor's powers (or at least the non-framework ones) into a single compound power, would you?

Give him enhanced senses (his visor/helmet and uniform/costume could have sensors embedded throughout, giving him 360 degree perception (perhaps with "picture in picture" if you don't want true 360 vision). Or a limited Danger Sense (his AR rig alerts him to imminent attacks). The right sensors would give him sharper, more acute sight and hearing, as well as perception into ranges he couldn't normally detect.

Don't forget to give him Spatial Perception and/or limited X-Ray vision. Not that he can literally see thru walls, but...he can track the cell phones most people carry these days. If he's got IR vision, he can track heat signatures. His computer can also hack into surveillance feeds, dig up archived floor plans and building specs, and synthesize it all into a virtual 3D rendering of his environment, complete with people and objects that are outside his normal lines of sight.

A really high KS: Info Available On The Internet doesn't hurt either, and can be added to his AR perception as tags. He looks at Villain du Jour, and a bunch of tags pop up: his current legal status (wanted, outstanding warrants), known powers and abilities, typical MO, known associates/family, etc.

How would I go about building that do I put it in a compound power in hero designer or do I build a computer in hero designer

"Compound Power" is on the Powers list.  :)

If you want to build a computer, go to, "File -> New Character -> Computer" (or AI, if you prefer). You can link it to a character by going to the Perks tab and selecting the Associate File option under, "Vehicles and Bases".
