How do you Conceal a Troll??

Recommended Posts

I bought Monster Hunter International for my friend Mike. We were going over it and I noticed that bit about Trolls.

I turned to the page with the silhouettes comparing size of the various species, indicated the Troll on it, and said "No, a Troll is just not going to get away with saying 'I'm a basketball player!'"

Mike said "Aw, why not?"

So I said "Okay, I'll play a Troll who's a basketball player then. Maybe a background with the Harlem Globetrotters...." and kept it up until he about fell over laughing.

So now I've been hammering out a basketball playing Troll.

The palindromedary says we'll probably see the character get posted sometime.

A Cosplay outfit.

Under a bridge.

Have the Troll stare down anyone looking at him and gesture "Shhh".

I'm kind of going for a variation of this....

"People WANT to believe everything they see fits into the world that's real to them.": Disguise 13-, Persistent (+1/4) (6 Active Points); Limited Power Self only (-1), Limited Power Not vs Monsters, Hunters, or people who know that Monsters Exist. (-1), Side Effects, Side Effect occurs automatically whenever Power is used (Cannot use full STR; -1/2), Limited Power Only to pass for Human (-1/2)

NOTES: "Seriously, if the thought crosses someone's mind 'that woman is a monster' then they see me acting all normal, they just dismiss that foolishness from their minds. In other words, people are idiots."

Yes, I'm going for a female. Partly for an excuse to buy some of the outrageous Troll physical characteristics down and partly so I can put this in the background:

"It's hard to say this, honey, but....you're a Trollop."

"MOM! Just because I'm seeing a couple different boys, it's not like - "

"No, that's not what I mean child! You're a Trollop, I'm a Trollop, the whole family is Trolls and Trollops. We're not...entirely Human."

What about a Trollette?

Is she already taken? If not consider this ad:

"I am a sweet little (under 8 feet tall) Catholic trollette and I am looking for a serious relationship, troll, ogre, Harlem-Globetrottin' human prefered. I am romantic, family-minded and easy-going. Only serious answers please - you kinky gnomes can bugger off!"

Background/History: "It's hard to say this, honey, but....you're a Trollop."

"MOM! Just because I'm seeing a couple different boys, it' not like - "

"No, that's not what I mean child! You're a Trollop, I'm a Trollop, the whole family is Trolls and Trollops. We're not...entirely Human."

It wasn't fair, having to give up sports like basketball and wrestling in high school - precisely because she was getting TOO good. But no good could come of it if people started to realize she was already stronger than any merely Human athlete should be. But then life got much worse than that. A pack of vampires moved in, wiped out most of the Trolls because they wanted tobe the only monsters in the neighborhood, and their leader decided the young Trollop would make a nice "pet." Tanya doesn't like to remember being enthralled by the hypnotic powers of the vampire; she'd much rather remember when the heroic monster hunters put a stake in the heart of the Master vampire and, suddenly free of his mental control, she enthusiastically helped take down the rest of the bloodsuckers.

Personality/Motivation: "Yeah, I loved being a princess rescued from terrible monsters by brave knights. When we were done with the vampires I offerred a kiss to every one of those hunters. Even the chick. But being a princess held captive by a monster SUCKS. I don't wanna wait around to be rescued again, I wanna be the knight!"

Quote: "I can't believe nobody taught these Orcs to play basketball yet?"

Powers/Tactics: Although not quite as strong and tough as a full grown male Troll, her athletic prowess is a major asset. Having been under the influence of a Vampire Lord gave her a sensitivity that alerts her when vampires are around, and a degree of resistance to psychic domination. And she has the makings of a gifted hacker.

Campaign Use: Player character

Appearance: Not bad looking for a Trollop

Sat with the Game Operations Director, and he doesn't like player characters having so much Damage Negation. We cut it down even further and I used the points to increase REC, buy some Weapon Familiarities (Wooden Stake, for example) etc.

the palindromedary adds that one of the new items was Iron Stomach (Life Support vs anything ingested) - "Of course I don't eat people, that's disgusting. Hey, anyone else want some of this roadkill?"

Female trolls are trollops. Haven't you read the Myth Adventures?

SO, can she cook?

SO, can she cook?

She can now.

After an incident involving getting burned, I said "I'm going to go slather on some of Mother Ettindam's Unguent." Then I wrote it up. Mike said I would have to have an Alchemy Skill in addition to buying the Power. So I put it as

"Granma's Cooking" Power Skill: Alchemy

Lucius Alexander

The palindromedary says it also took a long time before Mike noticed "Knowledge Skill: Carnal"
