There in most comics, The great metropolitan newspaper. The station with a reporter on the street. But who all would be in the newsroom in a superworld?

The editor

The crime reporter

The society reporter

The financial reporter

The art critic

The copy boy

The sports reporter

Who else should be there?

The guy who designs the crossword puzzles

Pretty sure those are either bought pre-existing or are computer generated.

Just the kind of stuff you either want to random pick from a huge selection or let a computer make via trial and error (asuming a proper database behind it). Maybe the hints are human generated, but the pattern most likely not.

You forgot the photographer (on big stories reporters lack the time to also handle the camera).

Since this is in a superheroic world and supers are a special kind of international celebrity, how about a "Super Activities Reporter"?

When superman saves the day (again), people outside of metropolis hear of it.

Water cooler guy, and at least two columists who are pessimistic old war horses with a heart of gold. Camera guy(s) (or girls)

An advice columnist, who wears glasses, who is often seen near the places where Heart Breaker operates

Astrology writer, who can always get word to Astoroth, the avenger. (Glasses optional)

Cross words and puzzles, obsessed with supers, named Edward Nygma???

Fails resist roll on dice

All the news dudes,

carry the news

strung on ludes

toally nude

Well, the nude news desk is part of several major media concerns.

And the correlation between 'journalist' and 'substance abuser' is many times the average.

So on the whole, not news but reality.

Anyone check out Marvel's The Pulse? In the Marvel Universe, "The Pulse" is the relitivly new 'pro-super-lifestyle' section of The Daily Bugle, and Jessica Jones-Cage works their as Superworld Adviser. Also working on The Pulse is the crusty old crime reporter Ben Urick (friend of Daredevil, uncle of the former Green Goblin 4 and current Hobgoblin, finally told Spiderman that he knows he is Peter Parker), and whoever JJ dislikes enough to put in the section (JJ hates supers, but knows that is what the public wants).

Well, on a really big newspaper, there'd be more than one of each, including the editor, though there would be an Editor-in-Chief to oversee the whole operation. Heck, the Daily Planet had at least TWO crime reporters--Lois and Clark.

Don't forget photographers (though the ubiquity of cell phone cameras these days means there's likely to be amateur footage of just about any big event--especially super-brawls. Plus the graphics guys and website creators/maintainers and researchers (who can do the dusty, unexciting research the crime reporters are too busy dodging gangsters to bother with).

Note that current day newspapers have been cutting staff like *whoa* which has had consequences in depth of reporting and missed stories.  Awesome Guy may find his secret identity as a reporter harder to get away from if he's expected to cover twice the stories due to half the journalists being laid off.  If he was lucky enough not to get laid off himself for his notorious habit of disappearing for hours or even days at a time.

Course Peter Kent while disappearing for hours and even days at a time always seems to come back with a great story. Which leads to its own problems.

Take that Parker kid. It's an open secret that he always manages to get those great shots of Spiderman because Spiderman is tipping him off. Yet except that one time with Gargan no one ever tries to follow him. And the Supervillians never wonder how Spiderman tips him off to a crime he tips Peter off t crimes he doesn't know their going to  commit.

Which brings up a side question. To field reporters get extra for covering superbattles?

Another important item of information would be, what decade are you talking?

40's

50's

60's

70's

80's

90's

00's

10's

or even near future 20-30's?

I always preferred to set my supers games pre-cellphone and pre or at least very early PC.   It is easier and more plausible for secrets to be kept in a world with no internet or cellphone.

And that would influence the newsroom.
