Bolt Action/Pump Action Weapons

Christopher

Question

We started a discussion in Dark Champions about some military roles. We came to the Sniper. Snipers in modern times oddly still often use Bolt Action Rifles rather then semi automatic.

And suddenly noticed none of the books mention anything about bolt-action/pump action weapons. Weapons that need an (half) action to rearm after firing.

Similar weapons include the pump-action shootguns and Single Action Revolver.

There were also lots of Bolt Action Weapons in the World Wars and the Wild West ages.

Is there any rule for bolt action weapons I overlooked?

Hmmm... the rules establish that working a bolt action is +2 on a Hearing PER Roll to hear the person doing it, but otherwise I don't seem to have addressed the subject for some reason. Without taking the time to research the subject, I'd say that bolt-action rifles should use the same rules as lever-action rifles (HSEG 51), though they can't be fanned or rifle spun. Most games probably don't need that level of realism, of course, but sometimes it adds to the fun. ;)
