5th edition elemental control adjustment powers question

Say i have an Absorbtion power at (+1 affects up to 4 powers in a special effect).I have an elemental control  that has 4 powers in it.

1 increased strength  2 Flight 3 force field 4 force wall .I know you must increase the elemental control and the slots but does the

framework "Elemental Control" count as a "Power" for the affects up to 4 powers in a special effect or do i need to take the (+2 affect all powers of a special effect)?

To me, each power in the EC is a separate power, so the Absorption could enhance all four powers, but that would be its "four powers in a special effect". It could not increase those four as a single power, then increase three others as well.

I think he's asking if the EC itself counts as a slot.

Slot one:  12D6 Flash -- Rainbow pattern

Slot two:  12D6 EB -- Concentrated rainbow

Slot three:  24/24 Force Field, costs End to activate -- Shimmering rainbow field

Slot four:  25" Flight x8 -- Rainbow road

 

So if he's going to use an adjustment power, does he need to bump up 4 powers, or 5 (one for the EC)?

Here again, I would say that each power in the EC is a power, but the EC itself is not. So Absorbing 10 points would add 10 AP to each of the slots (14d6 Flash, 14d6 EB, 28/28 Force Field and 30" flight). The EC itself is not a power - it is a framework.

I would build that with the advantage on it to add to a group of powers, treating the whole EC and its pool as a set of powers (+1/2 to the absorb, I think?).

The problem with absorbing to the EC as well is that you're doubling the absorption.  So IMO best answer is Hugh's - you don't absorb to the EC.
