Opale
Aloha bunch of heroes Long time I didn't set foot here, so please forgive me bluntiness. I hope you all were good. I have the curiosity to know if some of you ever played or Gamemastered the Shades of Black adventure, and if so, what happened to to character that was choosed as a vessel by Chantal (SPOILER !) In the "official" line, it was Witchcraft that was in trouble with the Transformation involved, but I tend to not let the Champions do the work, so my PCs get involved. And I'm looking for opinions, advises and maybe funny ideas on how to settle thing with a PC or a DNPC that would be choosed as the Vessel and turned by Chantal Magic, providing there is no known way to turn back her into her normal form ? And what kind of Abilities / Powers / skills, and of course Complications/ Disadvantages it could lead her to ? I'm not clueless, but my PCs starts to know how I think ,so I need a bit a fresh new points of view to surprise them. Thanks in advance Shades of blacking makup Opale

TheQuestionMan
Guest Star, New Sidekick, or DNPC?
Hermit
Whew. It's been a long time since I ran this, but I remember enjoying it immensely. I recall hooks for my pcs were luckily easy because they had High Society skills and connections. You could see if one of the PCs in your own game has a female DNPC who fits the bill in most ways already, make a decision (Assuming it hasn't already some how been checked for) that the young lady has untapped mystical potential. After the ritual, the DNPC would not only have a make over, but she might have that potential unleashed. The PCs could find themselves tasked with training a budding mystic And speaking of budding mystics, if your characters have ties to Ravenswood, there's nothing to prevent a minor mystic student there from also being a target. Opale
@QM : might be an empowered DNPC after the thinking ^^ @Hermit : yes, that's what I thought, to choose one of my PCs' DNPC. But this PC made a random assumption as the investigation began : he immediatly checked his DNPC birthdate, to see if that matched with the season of the other victims... So much for the surprise :/... I'm trying to blur the hints, but actually, the surprise element is half ruined And as for empowering the DNPC, it will unleash it in form of Ch'i I think. Thanks for your answers In the Black Opale
薔薇語
If the birthdate is causing issues, you could add in some other seemingly accurate criteria that negates that DNPC. Make it rather obvious info but not too 'wink wink' for the player. He and the others will discount their DNPC. Then find a way to mention how not all prophecies are accurate. That way when you do the reveal, the players will ve surprised and they will know to not always trust what they have been told. Foreign Orchid.
