tkdguy
Did they really die more often in TOS? This article claims otherwise.
Scott Baker
Yes. Even the article doesn't claim otherwise. More red shirts died, period. All of the math regarding total number of crew members in what color shirt is trying to make an argument about something that wasn't the original point. Not to mention that I don't remember all of those crew percentages actually ever being specified in the original series. The only number I remember is Kirk talking about the total crew. Badger
It seems in my mind, when the redshirts are gonna die, really came into being was in "The Apple". They lined up, pretty much, one by one in that episode (not that they didn't die before, of course-but that one really pops out in particular)
Narf the Mouse
...Well, if you want to simulate red shirts, just assume that every PC starts with ten security guards, and can buy more for 2 CP each, or sell them off for 2 CP each. pinecone
Huh, I always figured Red Shirts were just how you track Hit Points..."That's 10 points for your Captain" "Dang! Two more red Shirts gone, guys this is getting Intense!"

Exactly...Lol.."Captain, I estimate that weapon produces 12 Red Shirts per second" "Zounds!"
