Marcus Impudite
Long ago, an evil man with dark magical powers and aspirations of world domination was sealed away in an oil painting by a portrait artist who also had some hidden talent as a mage. In present day Campaign City, the painting has been stored away in a basement storage room of the Campaign City Museum Of Classical Arts. Unfortunately, the would-be tyrant has been unwittingly released from his prison within the layers of oil paint when an overzealous staff member attempted to "touch up" the painting. Based on information one of your character's colleagues was able to gather about the painting and its occupant, he can only be sealed away again if a person with a respectable amount of artistic talent paints him back into the portrait. Thus far, attempts to defeat him by more conventional means haven't worked out so well. WWYCD?
Nothere
Take a picture. Find an artist. Show artist picture. Say paint this.
sinanju
Whip out a knife, grab my ear, put the knife up to it and shout, "This is a job for...VAN GOGH!" Then look at my teammates and say, "What? I can't paint. We need a painter. Who do you know?"
steriaca
Lady Heart: Leave the painting alone unless whatever is sealed within gets out. Prehaps make refrence to the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure spinoff one shot "Rohan and the Louve" and to "Doom Patrol". Sunburn: Since he is retired, he will contact superheroic mystics to make shure that the locks on the painting are up to date and are strong. Tigereye
Merlin: Hire a painter. He knows several expert forgers who can do bang-up work in almost any genre; they should be able to restore the painting better than the kludge job the hapless staff member attempted. Merlin and his group can run interference for the forger while he or she (hopefully a she ) puts the seal back on. Casey: His mystic contacts include several of a good artistic bent. He can't paint (it's difficult to do when you have no hands) but there are no shortage of able hands he knows who will paint Vigo the Carpathian back where he belongs. Major Tom 2009
Just a long shot, but...you could always try to find the guy who painted the portrait of that Gray fellow. Someone like that would undoubtebly know how to do the job right. Major Tom 2009
