Seen on a blackboard upstairs (where the Math Department lives):

(1 + 9^(-4^(6 × 7))^3^2^85

is a pandigital expression approximately equal to e. It differs from e only after 8 trillion trillion digits.

The notation may not be clear here. The 9 is raised to the minus (4 raised to the 6 times 7) power. And 1 plus that is raised to the power (3 raised to the 2-to-the-85th-power).

"Pandigital" supposedly means each digit is used exactly once, but I don't see an explicit zero in there.

I also have not tried checking on the validity of the assertion.
