Clarification - Targeting Mental Powers Through Darkness to Mental

I read 6e 14 and it did not answer my question directly, but maybe I am missing it.

 

In the attached graphic, if actor B is inside a darkness to Mental group:

 

1. Can actor A target actor C with Mind Scan?

2. If I have Clairsentience with Actor A as my viewing point, can I see Actor B or C?

1. Yes, because C isn't in the Darkness to Mental Group. The fact that the Darkness to Mental Group area is between them doesn't matter, since LOS isn't required to use Mind Scan -- after all, a character can Mind Scan for someone on the other side of the planet.

 

2. If it's Clairsentience (Sight Group), the character can see both B and C. If it's Clairsentience (Mental Group), then he can't perceive either of them with Mental Awareness. He could perceive C with Mind Scan but not B.
