And here is thread Nr. 3 on the mater of a Human Stellar History, this time using 1.2.0 (Asimov) beta.

So the game might be a bit wonky as daily patches might go in middle of gameplay.

 

In the 21st century - 100 years before the development of Warp and start of the game proper - the United Nation of Sol send out 6 arcships equipped with powerfull but experimental Wormhole drives and filled with half a million colonists. None of them was heard from again, they were asumed lost and the Womrhole project was ended.

 

The stock faction "Commonwealth of Man" was the result. I choose to make a variant on this, the "Denobulan Directorate".

 

Biography:

"The Commonwealth of Man was not the only possible outcome of the Ulysses Initiative. These humans found themself on a hostile world that nessesitated certain curtailing of freedoms. However thier primary property was that most of the colonists were materialists and scientist, wich result in a very scientifically minded Government. However they choose against continuing the Wormhole project, instead opting to adopt Warp drive like thier distant earth Cuosins would eventually."

Survey of Deneb System Ordered.
Miltary Survey of nearby Hyperspace lanes ordered

2200.02.25:
First contact did not take long.
We found another Spacefaring empire in the Khem Jhunn System. Data indicates they are desert dwellers, wich means  they have likely interest in the western way out of the the Denebulan course.

2200.09.11:
We found 2 Habitable planets in the nearby Deneb/Khem Loop. However both are very small, making the very low priorities for Colonisation.
It is likely we have to secure the Ziamon System.

2200.11.11:
Another Empire contact, this time in the Nothern Hyrma System.

2201.08.04:
7 independant Reserach groups have been formed for the purpose of Identifying and establish communication with the various alien Lifeforms we have found.

2202.02.23:
All the Research groups have by now reporte partial or Complete success. As result we have established contact with two alien species:
The Khemplar from Khemsala in Khem Jhunn System are Desert dwelling Avians.
Ethos: Xenophobe, Fanatic Pacifist; Xenophobic Isolationists.

The Qravadox from Qrava in Quaratrafana are Ocean dwelling Avians.
Ethos: Collectivist, Xenophile, Pacifist; Migratory Flock

2202.04.07:
The Khemplar Proposed a Non-Agression Pact. We agreed.

2202.04.25:
We found Sol again!
The 1st Strike Group will soon enter the space our Ancestral Home System.

2202.11.10:
Diplomatic channels with the United Nations of Sol have been established, but it appears we are very estranged Brothers. There was instant conflict about them thinking we should subject ourself to thier rule.
But on Ethical Front, we have some other issues too:
Fanatical Individialist, Xenophile; Federation Builders
They heavily disagree with our choice for a highly ordered Soceity.

2203.10.13:
We had a unusual contact today - something that can best be describe as a "Fallen Empire".
The "Syldaean Successor States" are advanced in a way we have yet to grasp.
They also made it very clear that they do not approve of our research of "Dangerous technology" as they put it, specifically meaning any future atempts into AI robots we might be planning to take.

2204.02.22:
The 1st Strike Fleet has been lost with all hands.
According to thier emergency call they entered teh far off Ibacca system and ended up right n top of a Hostile Spaceborne entity. Before a emergency jumpout could take place all ships were lost.

2207.04.14:
The Hyacinth was a sister Arcship to the one that reached Deneb. It was supposed to appear somewhere in our rough neighbourhood to either support us or found another colony.
Earth has already given up on them, but we are not so easily deterred. If we managed to survive, maybe other human colonists did too? The Hunt for the Hyacinth is on.

2208.06.11:
A new Corvette fleet has been finished, twice as strong as the fleet we originally had when we left Deneb.

2209.01.16:
We finally found a Trail of the Hyacinth and a quite literal one - a Ion trail.
The new Corvette fleet is ordered to scout the systems along the way to make sure they are save for our Scientists.

2209.06.26:
The Hyacinth has been found powered down in a stable orbit around a inhospitable planet. A bording party is being prepared to Investiage it.

2209.07.20:
A great "Habitable world Survey" Initiative has been started today.

2210.01.14:
The Hyacinth turned out to be a graveyard. According to the log of Captain Ronald F. Gundersen the ship sufferd total Reactor failure after thier jump. They had to thaw out the entire colonsits, wich resulted in massive starvation, canibalism and mutiny. Not a single person survived.
The Hyacinth is towed back into Orbit of Unity and will be converted into a Museum, once the remains have been properly burried on Unity.

2210.04.13:
A possible colony in Hirim System turned out negative, as apparently there are stonage Primitives living on the planet.
Beside that, the planet also lies in Qravadox space. Actions against the Primitives by said Civilisation is unlikely, due to the strong Xenophile tendencies.

2212.02.02:
Phahamo Ohakim (New Worlds) was recruited.

2212.07.08:
In the southern Dangar System a Steamage Civilisation has been found.

2212.11.22:
Contact with the far removed Obevni has been made.

A new Form of Planetary Capitol Complex has been developed. It will be first build on Unity.
Meanwhile plans to colonise another planet have been made.Polaris will be the most likely target.

2215.03.16:
The Grand "Habitable Worlds Survey" is finally complete. The more interesting results are being present in the newly founded Museum of Exobiology in Unity.

2215.12.03:
Our "new Worlds Protocoll" has been finished, wich will allow us to make Colonies among the stars. However it will take considerable time to gather the resources for such an effort.
Lessons we have learned from our early days on Unity are being Formulated into the so called "Frontier Collective" initiative, wich should improove the speed of establishing the Colony.


2216.10.07:
After a long wait, work on our first Colonyship has finally begun.

2217.10.07:
Our first Colony Ship of the Scion class has been completed. It is called Harvest and will be on it's way to the Polaris System.

2218.02.30:
With Polaris Prime, the first Denebulan colony has been founded.
Notice the wording: Denubulan, not human. It appears our split from our ancestral home is complete.

2218.12.03:
Polaris Prime is now officially up and running.
Kang Yang has been moved to oversee the new colony, while Jaenette Moreau (Intelectual) takes over scientific research on Unity.

2222.01.14:
Our Survey Ship reached Sol. A cursory Military observation is that that Sols defense fleet relies entirely on old Nuclear Missile technology.

2222.06.07:
The Situation with teh Xenophobic Khemplar has been steadily declining. Just now they ended the Non-Agressive pact between our people.
A 10 year Truce takes it's place.

2222.06.18:
After the end of our treaty with the Khemplar we approached the Qravadox about a non-agression pact and were accepted.
In other news, a space Pirate group calling thesemlf the "Crimson Comandos" has formed.

2222.10.05:
A new Edict to "Map the Stars" was signed today by Director Guillermo Fernandez.

2222.11.01:
Work on a new Research Institute has begun on Unity.

2222.11.15:
Another alien Empire just "stumbeled in" on Polaris. Establishing of communication has begun.

2223.02.27:
The Pirate Fleet called "Crimson Comandos" has finally been found. They are on thier course to Polaris under the Leadership of renegade "Julia Tremblay".

2223.06.15:
With thier leader unwilling to retreat, the Crimson Comandos fleet has been destroyed in Polaris. No ship was lost.

2224.01.16:
After over a year in construction, the Research Center on Eearth has been finished. A considerable boost to the Planets science output is expected.

2224.08.14:
After months of Seige and attacks, the Crimson Comandos Pirate base in Ziamon has been destroyed.

2226.09.15:
After the Frontier post of the Qravadox had been destroyed by teh Crimson Comandos, a Denebulan Frontier post has been placed in Ziamon.
Plans are being formulated to later maybe colonise the Desert Planet Ziamon III.

2229.03.04:
With Polaris Prime finally reaching the state of a fully fledged colony, another Colony ship is ordered for the Ascella System.

2229.05.02:
Another survey of Sol revealed that teh UNS still had 14 Corvettes only, with extreme Missile reliance. However Shield generators appear to have entered service to some degree.

I had a long non-agressive pact with teh Khemplar. But now they seem intent to get on my nerves. I plan on cutting thier expansion into "my" space a little. Possibly topple thier government.

In 3 years the truce ends.

 

I finally managed to get along with the Quaravadox.

 

The UNS is boxed in. The only way they could expand too has no habitable planets. I will have to integrate them on way or the other.

A treaty to share sensor data has been singed with the Qravadox today.

2231.04.08:
Ascella Prime has been established.
Mahesh Potti has oversight of the new colony.

2231.08.28:
In anticipation of a future Conflict with the Khemplar, the fleet is being expanded.

2233.03.20:
The earth Government under President Hildegard Schneider just gave us what can best be described as "Tribute".
Using the new income, Works on a Spaceport in Polaris Prime have begun wich will allow us to support much more ships then previously possible.

2233.04.21:
The "Museum of Exobiology" on Unity has asked the Military to procure several rare alien specimens from across the Galaxy.
Furthering science is always acceptable.
All of them can be found in the space of our Nieghbours.

2234.05.25:
A cursory Flight over Khemplar space revealed that they are using Basic missile weaponry like our Solward brothers.
The species procurement is moved out of Khemplar space and an official Rivalry has been declared to them.

2234.08.27:
War agaisnt the Khemplar Government has been declared. The goals are to Cede the Wetij system (inlcuding it's highly valuable colony planet). And repalce the Government as a whole.
Admiral Isabel Gomez takes control of the 1st Strike Force, now with a total count of 26 Corvettes.
The first goal will be the enemy Capitol System of Khem Jhunn.

2234.12.27:
The enemy fleet left the Khem Jhunn port alone, to strike at polaris. The fleet moves to intecept any such strike.

2235.03.28:
The enemy fleet was defeated in Rotanev. The Siege of the Spaceport begins.
The Fleet moves out to Wetij system, to prepare the Orbital/Air defenses for a ground attack.

2236.03.09:
The 1st through 6th Assault Legion have finished training and equipment and are on Route to Wetij.

2236.07.10:
The Invasion Forces ahve reached Wetij and immedaitely begun with the Landing, as the defenses had been annihilated. 7 Defense Armies and 2 Garission are arrayed agaisnt our Troops.

2236.09.09:
The last resistance on Claive in Wetij has been defeated. Our army was victorious.

2237.08.21:
Malik Jamshidi died at age 85.

2238.01.02:
While 3 Legions hold Wetij, the 3 remaining and 6 new move out for Rotanev wich has alrady been under Siege for some time.

2238.05.19:
The attack on Fidgit in Rotanev has begun.

2238.06.03:
Our Leader Guillermo Fernandez died today at age 85, about 2 years before the normal end of his term.
4 Candidates are avaible and wich one will be choosen remains to be seen.

2238.07.11:
Fidgit has been taken.
As the enemy still seems unwilling to yield, Cknoor will be the next target for our Fleet.

2238.09.04:
Former lead Engineer Lukas von Gebser (77) has been Elected new Director

2239.05.04:
Basic Robot technolgoy has been developed. While further pursuits will be made, application will have to wait until after Syldean have been dealt with.

2239.10.03:
Mission acomplished. With a invasion of thier final colony imminent, the Khemplar Government admitted defeat.

2239.10.07:
The "Khemplar Consciousness" has been formed. The new Government will have the hard task to re-educate the Khemplar people out of thier Xenophobic ways.
A spoil of this war is the Desert Planet Claive. Not only offers it huge amounts of living space and integrates Khemplar people into our state, it also host species of "Titanic Life". Our brothers back on Earth would propably think of Godzilla Movies.

2239.12.15:
The new Khemplar Government signed a non-agresson pact with us today.


2240.03.07:
Two factions exist east at the Galactic Core:
The Opalglec are late commers (they still have some Atomic Age armies on thier planets). Ethos: Xenophile, Fanatic Militarist; Hegemonic Imperialist

2240.05.02:
All invasion Armies have gathered in Claive, Wetij System in case any insurrections happen.
Meanwhile Ascella Prime started work on thier Planetary Governemnt.

2240.08.21:
Valerie Pushkov - captain of the Corvette Venerable - has been promote to Admiral due to bravery in fight. He takes over the 1st Fleet.

2240.10.16:
Governor Kang Yang Died at age 87.

2242.07.04:
A defensive Pact has been formed between the Denobulans and the Khemplar.

2243.11.11:
Plans are being made to Liberate Sol from thier Current Government.

2244.05.01:
As the fleet under Admiral Valery Pushkov has reached Dossel on the UNS/Qravadox border, a Liberation war is being declared unto the UNS Government.

2244.12.03:
After a long chase across all Systems, the UNS fleet lays siege to Claive. Chances of a successfull ground attack are considered "non-existant". However timing it with a potential Rebellion could work out.

2244.12.16:
After a interruption due to our first Interplanetary war, all 8 alien Specimen for the Museum of Exobiology have been gathered.

2245.02.17:
UNS admiral Sally Poole engaged Admiral Valery Pushkov's fleet in Wetij and is pushed out of our Space.

2245.06.05:
After jumping out too close to the Unity Defenses, Admiral Sally Poole and the UNS fleet have been defeated.

2245.09.11:
The 1st Strike Force has recieved reinforcements and is underway to Sol.

2245.10.04:
The Sol Fleet attacked and Killed Scientist Gugu Jwarha during battlefield Salvage today. She was still able to transmit her findings before her ship exploded.

2246.05.21:
Lukas von Gebser died today at age 85. 4 new Candidates are avalible for the post of Director.

2246.08.21:
Physicist Margherita Moretti (76) was elected as Director today.

2246.08.25:
In a drawn out battle, the Earth Spaceport and remaining Fleet have been defeated.

2246.09.16:
With Earth having come under Orbital Bombardment, the UNS Government relented.
The Human Directorate under director Kahil Quasim has been installed on Earth.

2246.11.04:
The Human Directorate was made a Vassal of the Denobulan Directorate today, on thier own request.

2247.03.02:
In order to Aid the integration of the Khemplar in Wetij, several political changes have been made.

2248.06.01:
Creation and Controlling a Empire is not a easy task and not one we ever had any chance to learn beforehand. But we might have finally figured out how to do it: Work on a "Empire Capitol Complex" has begun on our Capitol Unity.

Keeping and Maintaning order and re-educating people in the benefits of Denubulan rule has not been easy. But finaly we will get the knowledge needed to convert even the most insestent people. Phahamo Ohakim just started research into a "Frontier Comissariat".*

2254.03.05:
Corvettes were really nice ships, but it was clear they could not keep up with future demands. As a result a new class of Destroyers has been developed. Spaceports are being upgraded in order to build this totally new kind of ship.

2254.11.15:
It appears the Claive Liberation Movement is just running out. After the initial shock of the Conquest have worn off, the Khemplar are much more willing to work for us.
It is still a far cry from them actually following our Ethos, but it is a step into the right direction.

2256.02.05:
The Khemplar just decalred war on the Qvefoz. As the war was initiated by the Khemplar, our defense pact does not apply.

2256.12.02:
Grant Cooper just transformed the Denubulan Directorate from Science directorate into a Illuminated Technocraczy (T2 variant), giving him the new titel of Overseer.

2259.09.23:
With the Aquirer a new Colony Ship has been built. It's target will be the Ocean moon Wetij IIIa, making it a direct Borther to the captured colony of Claiven.

How do you like the gameplay changes?

Definitely going upward. Diplomacy got much more interesting.

Combat is finally getting the long overdue Overhaul.

Slavery is no longer free (at full power).

With default open borders some Survey issues got solved + it might open options for Espionage up.

 

But as they have at least thrown out 4 different builds of this beta since it started, stuff tends to get a bit...wonky.

Right now I have the wierd issue that any newly build robots get the "pre-sentient" tag and thus are uncontrolable.

Wiz stated last Extraterrestrial Thursday that he would not put in an espionage system just to have an espionage system, but if someone -- fan or PDX employee -- comes up with a cool and memorable system he would not hesitate to include one.

As I said on the Forum (The Foudner):

A perfect match would be the Espionage System from Hegemonia: Legions of Iron. Especially now with the open borders. There are so many similarties one can work with, it is incredible.

Researchers on Wetij Secundus demanded a relaxation of the laws banning experimentation on near-scentient species. As the reserachers we are, we agreed. However the local population will be unhappy about this.

2265.03.07:
Phahamo Ohakim - inventor of the Frontier Comissariat among other things - died at the age of 86.

2265.04.25:
Plans to take over the Qravadox are being made. However Ziamon has to be colonised first.

2266.02.05:
New Reserach into maintaining our ordered way of life has begun, called the "Ministery of Benevolence". While it will consume massive amounts of power of Unities powergrids, it will be invaluable at maintaining order across our diverse Ethnecities.

2266.07.18:
New Research into Xeno-Integration allows us to accept any species as leaders. The appropirate Policy has been instantiated.

2267.05.03:
New improved Hyperdrives have been introduced and are ready for mass production.

2268.08.04:
Work on the Ministery of Benevolence have begun.

Ziamon Prime has been establish. Mahesh Potti has been send to oversee the efforts of making the surface usable for Colonists.

12 Legions of Khemplar Assault troops have been Formed on Claive. They will proove usefull in further offensive or defensive wars.

2273.08.04:
New Genetic Engineering techniques have been pioneered. They allow us to change any species habitability to anything we desire, while also adding usefull secondary and tertiary traits.
The 4 billion humans on Wetij Secundus will be the first to undergo the procedure, to be better adapted to the Aquatic colony situation. The process will only take 3 months.

2275.03.23:
Ziamon Prime already started the upgrade to a proper Planetary Capitol.

Mahesh Potti and Mariana Martin Switch places, now that the primary buildup phase of Ziamon Prime has begun.

Faraj Bankole died at the age of 84 today.
Feathers of Ivory (Khemplar) is hired to repalce him.

Pietra Marino found trace amounts of a rare Substance called "Zro", that in theory can ampliy latent psionic potential.
However no exploitable sources for widespread use have been found in the entire surveyed universe.

A social Wellfare programm has been enacted, despite the considerable cost on Industry and the Energy network
While primarily aimed towards improoving Scientific output by not loosing brilliant minds to missfortune, it also applies to and helps with general output and removing certain overley Pacifist tendencies from the Migrated and Conquered species.

2279.06.20:
Admiral Isabel Gomez died today at age 85. Operations of the fleet are not hindered by this, as Valery Pushkov already had taken over her job effectively.

2280.12.30:
Scientist Guo Mao died at age 83 while working in the Deep Space Survey corp.
Feathers of White takes over the responsibilities.

The western Qvefox lost thier agression war on the     Opalglec, making them a major power in teh region.
The remaining Colony of Ranction is likely to fall to the Khemplar Invasion.

Huan Yang died at age 87.

With Mahesh Potti another Governor of Claive died.

The old Policy to refrain from Agressive wars has been removed.
War has been Declared on teh Centralized Qravadox States with to goal of ceeding all planets along the Hypersapce route to Sol:
Unur, Savassic and Qratrafrana, thier Home System.

2290.04.18:
Admiral Eyes of Orange was able to make a scane of the Passing Qravadox Fleet under Admiral B'Raki.
It was revealed that the enemy weaponry contains not problematic weaponry and far inferior sensor and FTL capabilities.

2290.06.07:
The enemy fleet was intercepted in the Ziamon system and made a hasty retreat when our fleet appeard.
Admiral Eyes of Organge is in hot pursuit.

2290.07.21:
Admiral Eyes of Orange managed to catch the enemy fleet in enemy territory. In the resulting fight, all ships but the 4 enemy cruisers were destroyed, while only loosing one Cruiser himself.

2290.08.07:
The remaing 4 crusiers have been destroyed. The Fleet moves to Ziamon for repair and minor refits.

2290.11.04:
The Engineering Researches under Feathers of Ivory has finished the Reserach part of build battleships. The Immortal class has been proposed by Eyes of Orange. However several Support and Flagships are being planned insteaad.
Upgrade of the Unity Spaceport to support this new class have begun.

After a drawn out battle with the Unur Spaceport and Fortress complex, the fleet manages moves into bombardment position.

2291.06.16:
Planetary Defenses in Unur have been Weakened sufficiently for a Ground Invasion.
The generals of our 24 Assault Legions have begun thier descent.

After not even 3 months, fighting in Umur has ended The Planet has been conquered.
While 12 Legions stay, the other half of our Forces moves out to Unity for rest and Recovery.
The Fleet under Admiral Eyes of Orange is sent for yet another Refit with improoved shields and new Antimater reactors, this time over Unity.

A enemy counterattack on Unur has begun.
However with our twelve legions and the Orbital defenses being repaired to some degree and no obrital support for either side, the chances for the 9 Spaceborne Armies under General Skraak are very low.

Even with 2 more Armies joining the fray, all enemy groundforces in Umur have been defeated.

2292.05.22:
On thier way to the Qratrafrana system, the fleet spots a large fleet, as well as considerable stationary defenses. The attack is caneled and hte fleet goes for easier Targets like Jurnast.

2292.10.20:
The Stations in Jurnast have been destroyed. However our 3 cruisers of the claive class have been lost in the battle.

2293.02.05:
After the research for it has been Completed, a new Policy to only allow leaders with strong Heridtary and Social lines has been enacted.
This new "Leader Enhancement" programm is not particulary popular with the public.

2293.09.04:
With the Prometheus our first battleship has been has entered service. It wil join with the 1st Strike Force and will be Admiral Eyes of Orange new Flagship

2293.10.23:
Both Jurnast Colonies have been secured.

2294.03.12:
Admiral Eyes of Orange Developed a new Penchant for fast Moving attack and will pay aditional attention to his Navigators.

2294.04.21:
Due to our huge miltiry success, we were able to force the Qravadox to cede all systems and hand over all defenses still maintained in the not attacked ones.
While a Repatriachic tendencies are likely, the people are likely to quickly adapt to our Way of life.
The new Qrava sector has been formed and put under Control of Prisha Moorthi.

2294.05.18:
The 3 billion human settlers in Savassic system have taken the custom genetic engineering and create a new "Species". They call themself the "Ultra Humans" and consier themself to be as distinct as the Khemplar and Qravadox

2294.09.01:
Feeling properly threathened by our recent expansion, the Khemplar have exited our non-agression pact.
We also canceled the defensive pact and will not re-start the Research Pact.

2295.02.10:
The Research aspect of Terraforming has been completed. Unfortunately none of our Systems contain the resources nessesary to start this process.
We have also confirmed that we will be going after the remaining Khemplar Colonies as soon as the Mandatory Armistrice runs out.

2295.08.07:
Our agressive Observation of the Machine Age Civilisation in Dongar have resulted in the splintered nationstates working together to form a Anti-Alien Taskforce*.
No signs of success against our agressive Observations has been shown

It looks like another update is out now. So I can now turn off that mod that fixed robots and in turn enable a few other mods.

The Sol government has renamed itself to "Human League of Worlds".

This is the area of the 1st Qravadox War. 3 new systems aquired and instantly mooved into a Sector.

While the Qravadox maintend thier 2nd Fleet, paying maintenance for it on 3 coloinies will be a problem and proably hinder them more then help.
Loosing all remaining spaceports was not exactly helpfull either

The Khemplar will be my next target.  I doubt I can take them out in one war and where the focus on I am not yet clear. I am likely to take the northern colonies first and look where I can go from there. Their Homeplanet might have to be left out.

The Kemplar still have not won the war agaisnt the remaining Qvefoz world, but at least they are making headway.
They also have a mutual defense pact with the Opalglec Commonwealth.

2295.10.01:
The Gwesibor Stellar Mandate (Fanatic Individualist, Xenophobe) from the North/western quadrant invited us to war against the minor Rixi Republic (Collectivist, Xenophile, Militarist). However taht minor power has a defense pact with the Tebbran Commonality (Xenophile, Pacifist, Spiritualist).
We declied due to unfavorable distances.*

2295.11.30:
As the Qravadox Repatriarchs are not far away from accepting our rule, controled Missinformation has been used to erode popular support for them. That will make them less likely to become a Radical Movement anytime soon.

2296.08.20:
The Anti-Alien Taskforce in Dongar has had successes, inlcuding bringing down at least one of our Abduction Shuttles.
However they will not be a threat should they reach the space age.**


2296.11.02:
The Quell Nudar Polity (Collectivist, Fanatic Spiritualist) has ask us to help them in thier war agaisnt the League of Popdu (Individualist, Xenophile, Materialist.
Apparently their Defense Pact partners in the Obveni Order (Fanatic Collectivist, Spiritualist) do not wish to help them.
While that future alliance might be a considerable Threath to us, we feel that having the Popdu curtailed and partialyl converted away from that Rampant "Individualism" is worth the danger.*
Unfortuantely our Fleets and legions can not reach the space, due to the Khemplar laying claim to certain Crucial Systems. So our only hope is that the Podu engage us or that we can engage in warfare with teh Khemplar

The Negotiations for appointing a new Overseer are underway. In addition to Office Holder Grant Cooper, Aanya Naik, Concetta Ricci and Palash Venktaesan are likely to become the post. It is unclear who will win the election.***

Feeling threathened if the Qell'Nudar should fall against hte Obveni order as well as noticing a weakness in thier fleet, the the Obveni declare war on the Popdu.

In the South/East Quandrant, the Cyggan declared war on the Ziiran. (Collectivist and Materialist, jsut different Fanatical ordering)

2298.02.18:
Elina Deveraux (35, Rerited Feelt Officer) takes over Unity. A steep improovement in ship production is expected to come from this.
General Governor reorganisation has taken place in the wake of this change.

2298.05.21:
Verbal insults have been flying between Overseer Grant Cooper and High Technician Red Wing I, the leader of the Khemplar people.
Only in 2304 will there be a chance of actuall warfare to come from this.

2298.06.19:
It appears wars are flaring up everywhere.
In the south/west quandrant a struggle between two minor powers has broken out.

The "Qravadox Repatriarchs" under thier Leader "Eyes of Yellow" just commited a major act of sabotage in the Qrava Sector

2299.08.24:
In a surprise strike the Anti-Denebulan Taskforce in Dongar managed to destroy our Abduction post. It is still not certain how they managed to track it, but reverse-engineering technology from the downed abduction shuttle seems likely.

2300.02.04:
The Abduction Post over Mag Rutosh in Dongar system has been rebuild. What further actions will come from these machine age primitives remains to be seen.

2300.06.11:
Our 5th Battleship has been build, compeltin the Flagship part of the 1st Strike Force. The Galatea, Prometheus, Perseverance, Tempest and Decimator are equipped with powerful support modules that will greatly amplyfy the fleets abilities in combat.

2300.09.19:
Apparently the Obveni Order and Qell Nudar Polity are equally ungratefull for our assistance. Both have declared is a rival.

2301.11.24:
Feathers of White just developed a interest and showed Aptitude in teh area of Colonisation technologies.

2302.12.06:
Qravadox Repatriarchs have reached a level of support and organsiation where "Open rebellion seems only a mater of time". As a reaction, several new planetary defense forces are being created.

2304.01.01:
The year in wich both our Truces will run out has begun. Unfortunately between the War unrest, Repatriarch facion and the reinforcement of the fleet, a considerable energy shortage has manifested itself.

2304.01.21:
Open rebellion has begun in the Qrava Sector, but was quickly and decisevely put down by the garission forces.****

2304.04.21:
We are no longer bound by our Peace treaty. And with the War unrest because of the whole Popdu situation, we also ahve nothing to loose from engaging them.
The 2nd Qravadox war has begun.

The Qravadox main fleet under Admiral Reebik has been spotted in Unur. However the fleet is way to small to pose any real danger.

2304.06.19:
While ther course set them on thier way to recapture Unur, the appearance of the 1st Strike Force forced them to retreat to friendly territory.

2304.08.19:
The enemy fleet has been caught and annihilated in Jurnast. The fleet prepares to engage the Spaceports .

2305.05.16:
The Remaing Stations in Jurnast have been destroyed.
Now the seige and conquest of both planets can begin.

2306.02.25:
Both Jurnast Colonies have been taken by force.
The Qravadox are forced to surrender unconditionally.

2306.02.29:
Jurnast has been added to the Qrava Sector, while Samderaan has been put into the newly formed (and very small) Samderaan Arm Sector. It will be the foundation for further colines in what is a "far off backyard" of the Denebulan Diectorate.

2306.03.01:
While the path through Khemplar space is no logner an issue, the Opalglec have closed thier borders to us in a attempt to aid thier Defense pact ally.

2306.05.23:
The intergation of the Sol System into the Directorate has begun. It is expected to take only 30 months.
Plans to engage the Khemplar and thier Opalglec allies are being made, so we can finally end the Popdu war.

Our Rivalry with the Khemplar has ended. While both sides are still very warry of each other, access to the other space has been re-allowed.
The Path into Popdu Space is finally open and we can commit to the war.

2307.03.17:
While our forces are still underway, the Khemplar Government has closed thier borders towards us making reaching Popdu space once again impossible.
In a reaction a war has been declared on the Khemplar and thier Opalglec allies with the goal to open Border access and cedee Hoedus, Srudma and Rotanev Colonies wich have been preventing us from leaving our corner of space.

2307.06.06:
The 1st Strike force under Eyes of Orange has reached the Rotanev Systems, west of Polaris.
However the Khemplar fleet has been spoted near Sol and the fleet turns around to chase them down.

2307.12.30:
Opalglec mainfleet has been found in Hoedus and retreats after short combat. No ships lost.

2308.02.06:
The remaining Opalglec fleet is caught and destoryed in Srudma. The fleet goes into a siege position on the planet.

2308.05.09:
Admiral Eyes of Orange shows an increased ability to maintain the supply of his Fleet. A considerable decrease in Fleet maintenance cost is expected as a Result.

2308.11.03:
The Government in the Sol system has been fully integrated into our Empire. Works to upgrade Sol to Full Denobulan Tech Standart have begun.

2309.05.09:
Srudma and Hoedus Systems have been secured after heavy ground attack. The fleet moves to assault a counter attack in Srudma.

2310.01.30:
Xenomorph armies are little more the Genetically engineered Biological killer machines, barely controlable even by thier handlers but highly effect as planetary invasion and garission force.
Work at creating armies of them have begun in the two main recruitment centers - Claive and Unity.

2310.02.11:
A radicalized Pacifist & Seperatist Movement has been gaining strenght on Ziamon. In a response, the planetary Garrision has been massively reinforced. With more then half the planets population backing the old ideas imported from a young DD Claive, things are likely to go to conflict.

2311.04.16:
The war with the Popdu is finally over. As soon as the new colonies in Khemplar space are secured, we will see a considerable decrease in unrest.

2312.07.03:
The Khemplar have accepted defeat and ceeded the 3 Border systems to us.
North and South Border Sectors have been formed, each consisting of the 2 Systems along the Hypersapce route. Thier goal is to maximise Planetary and Orbital Defenses.

2314.03.13:
The Stone Age Primitives in Hirim have developed into a Bronze Age Civilisation. Xenophobic and Highly Militaristic they are deemed unsuiteable for anything but agressive study.

2314.03.16:
The Tebbran Commonality from the North/west quandrant asked for a Non-Agression pact. We decided against it, as they are not significant enough to warrant the effort.
So we respectfully declined.

2316.05.28:
Over the last years, extensive Integration Campaings have been put in place for the Khemplar people so they would be more willing to accept our Leadership. However there is still lingering resentment.

2320.07.01:
With the Marksman the First human colonyship in nearly a decade has left the Wetij Secundus Ports. It's goal is Belgium in the Samderaan Arm, to secure relevant Teldar Supplies in the nearby Cyban System.

2321.08.25:
The Quel'Nudar just declared war on the Remainders of the Popdu League. It is unlikely they will be able to resist.
The Khemplar and North/west Tebbran join in the fight. The Tebbran are by far the bigest and most powerfull faction.

2323.11.29:
With the Qell'Nudar war on the Popdu not going so good, the Obveni have now declare a independant war onto them.

2324.02.01:
The new Colony in Belgium stands under a bad star, quite literally. Deep Space Monitoring has tracked a huge Asteroid on colission Course. While that would have been a sure deathsentence for our species a mere 224 years ago, now we have more then enough ability to distroy the rock. The 1st strike force under Eyes of Orange has been send out to intercept it, should the Spaceport proof insuficcient.

2324.09.16:
While the Planetary and Spaceport defenses would have been enough to kill the Asteroid before impact, the 1st Fleet still came to aid and destroyed the large spacerock on colission course with Belgium. Considerable minerals have been found in the wreckage.

2326.12.11:
With the Planetary Administration fully opeartional, Belgium is now no longer a colony but a flully flegded - albeit poor developed and populated - planet of the Denobulan Directorate.

2327.01.26:
Our agressive Observation in Hirim had adverse effects. Apparently a whole order of the cybnertic Monitoring implants have an adverse effect on the natives implanted with them, causing violent and suicidal behavior.

2327.07.16:
The faulty implants have been removed and replaced with the functional versions. Suprisingly a wealth of information could be gathered from this.

With Shu Shen a Rocketry Expert has been recruited for our science division.

Developments:

I finally managed to end that one war. Or rather the AI managed too. There might some issues with the AI being way too passive in a war against other AI.

One of the militarist democractic nations keeps inviting me to war on a pacifist democratic nation.

A mid term goal is to take on the souther fallen empire. 5 ringworld pieces (each counts as 25 gaia planet) with unique production buildings, 4 of them in one system. That would be a "game over" amount of production. Not to mention the living metal I might get from that. Of course engaging a Fallen Empire is easier said then done.

The game just got some AI upgrades. Already seen some wars end (there was a issue with wars not properly ending at surrender stage) and it might get my sector AI to working on full power soon-ish.

The are propably swallowing up the rest of the Popdu. I consider some liberation warfare against thier eastern systems to create a "buffer state".

Thanks for these, I've been enjoying the heck out of Stellaris, but have just been restarting a new game when it hit the "blah" stage. I just got the Asimov update, and I'm liking it a lot...but I noticed a huge advantage to Bombard fleets (I was using Missiles, and Particle Lances) is that a "thing"? I just started a Kinetic game to see if close in fighting is at all possable...

Yes, distance can help you win. Especially with the increased ranges from Asimov and the slowdown to "combat speed".

Furthermore missiles and Lances are notoriously precise and borderline (or outright) un-evadeable, countering the fast and small ships even more.

 

Of course if the enemy get#s you into melee range (FTL inhibitor fortress, chase) you would be at least at a slight disadvantage.

Cool. Well I just started a Kinetic/Warp game with the "Swarm"...Giant bugs, fast breeding, communal, fast learning, Repugnant...I guess I will have some issues in combat then. Maybe I can learn how to build Kinetic Artillery to get back an "edge"   :)

Basic Massdrivers actually beat basic lasers in range. The autocannon is what is short ranged. In either case, Mass drivers need considerable to hit bonus and reliance on small slots.

What might help you as Kinetic user is that every PD counts as Kinetic for modifiers and there is a special large slot PD (Flak Artillery) behind the autocannons.

Nice, I was just thinking Flak is good vs Strike craft, and point def is good vs Missiles, each being poor vs the "other". I have seen my Point def run up some good numbers once they get close enough.

 

On my larger ships (Crus and up) I tend to put two point Defs on each...and Torpedo Fleets seem to become useless....sadly they often back Torpedoes with Plasma, and/or Auto Cannon.

 

I was thinking I could build destroyers with a Large mount and have a big fire hose ( Auto Cannon) but the overwhelming effect of ranged fire power makes me wonder...likely I will build a few then check the after action report to see how they perform.

Well Seventy years in or so...getting out ranged has not come up yet...But I have not faced BBs yet. I am using Space Torpedoes for my long range, and Rail guns as my back bone.

 

My main unit is a DD with a Large, and two smalls....Big Rail gun, PD, space Torp...Improved Combat Computer and improved Deflectors. I feel fairly safe, but don't think I can take my two Big AI buddies to the N, and S...:(   I got real lucky and I have Xenovor assault troops (!)  I got them super early somehow.
