I'm getting ready to start a campaign for Star wars with 6th edition rules and while I was searching to see if there was anybody who have done it, All I found where dead links or posts of people who did not want to share. I don't know how long this campaign is gonna last but do you guys want to see what I've done? or does anyone have material that could make my work a little easier? I'm finishing up the lightsaber tonight and then I'm gonna work the martial arts. After that are the packages. Any and all help will be appreciated.

lets start with the light saber....with crystals!

revised it a bit after running it by my team....I would love some feedback! Basically I gave the lightsaber a base damage. the individual crystals enhance from there. all you have to do is link the two powers and viola!

update time.......now with Martial arts!

Let's start with the Elephant in the room:
Powerlevels.

Jedi and those that work beside them are on the line between very high powered Heroic and Superheroics. You have to decide on wich level the characters start and wich one they will work towards.

Depending on wich level you choose, a lot of builds have to be done differently.

The force itself can be mostly done using Mental Powers, in particular Mind Scan, Psychokinesis and the like.

I've been playing a Star Wars game but I've been using the old WEG Star Wars rules. (This is another project that I claim I'm going to convert to Hero someday). For canon, I use the Original, Han shot first, trilogy as a guide and Expanded, old and new game resources, some of the cartoons as a buffet.  I pick and choose what I want. (I really enjoy the SW: Rebels and think that its better than the prequels). In the '90s, I remember first looking up Sta Wars web sites. And the biggest feeling i want to recreate is a sense of wonder plus back then people use to write up stuff from other Sci-Fi movies and such and added it in the Star Wars universe. I remember seeing Battlemechs written up even! Feel free to mold your Star Wars universe how you see fit.

As to power levels, there was a fierce thread awhile back going over to how powerful a Jedi should be and do they outclass normal characters. If you want a prequel style Jedi, then it makes sense to look at low powered super hero level. If you want an Ezra and probably even Kanenon power level, then Heoic level is fine..

Bbstacker, what era do you plan on playing? And curious, what canon are you using?

right now we are looking at the KOTOR era......that seem like the best time for what every one is looking at. as far as canon, I'm sticking to EU, original canon ( Also known as Legends), Eventhough one in my group HATES the yuhzan vhong. Though we may jump to legacy as I feel that era has much to offer....I got a new file to update....I've been working on MA for the light saber forms. And I've been searching the internet for all things starwars, From wookiepedia to the dark jedi brotherhood. This has actually been a summer project of research and Development. But I will grab that d6 to hero conversion. I'm just really surprise this isn't in constant rotation.

Most licensed IP settings tend to bubble up every now and again, but then settle back down. For myself, I tend to think "Oh I'd like to run a Star Wars game." Then I do the research and decide that I'd rather run a Star Wars inspired game. I think a lot of people are like that. I think we like to pick from a smorgasbord of ideas from different sources and mush them together into something that is vaguely our own.

oh yeah the d6 fan base is strong...I actually had to debate the change to hero....... They held the license until 1998, which then was held by WotC until 2010. I'm currently only using those two properties since they are "dead". but I may just go dark until I'm completely done with the prefab. I got a few martial arts and about a dozen lightsaber crystals to finish.

I've been running a Star Wars HERO game the last four months or so. 5th ed, because everyone is new to HERO and I didn't want to jump into a new edition with players who are also completely fresh. I made a giant bucket of prefabs so the players wouldn't be overloaded with HERO, but I have to say the guys are being AWESOME about the system. They generally prefer light systems, and I appreciate their enthusiasm every session. For my part, I don't think I've ever been this excited about GMing or have ever put this much work into it. Real hat tip to my players.

Era is "Rise of the Empire" officially, and it's a Dark Side group. We're essentially doing an alternate version of the prequels, weaving an alternate story in between the major events of SW:TPM and SW:ROTS. I don't want to give too much away in case any of my players are lurking, but the story will reveal that the presence of the Force in the galaxy is not what it is portrayed to be. So-called "Dark Siders" are often just Jedi and academics frustrated with an increasingly corrupt and stagnating Jedi Order . . and other, darker forces are willing to take advantage of that frustration. I guess it's sort of a stereotypical "dark & gritty" reboot, but the players are loving it.

Oh thanks for posting that BBstacker, I am always on the lookout for more Star Wars prefabs! I will post my race templates as payback.

Nothing wrong with putting your own spin on things. One of the things I've considered in the past is that the Force is actually semi-sentient and feeds on emotions. Once you start down the "Dark" (emotional) side of the Force, it is almost like a drug where the Force feeds your power because it needs the raw emotional energy created by the stronger, more negative emotions. In return, Dark side Force users get boosts to their abilities. The Jedi recognized this and learned to tap into the Force while trying to stay emotionless. That is why they are so emotionally stunted. In the back of their minds, they know that one misstep and they become power junkies looking for their next fix. As for the Dark side Force users, they inevitably are more powerful (if compared to themselves as if they were Jedi) in the now, but their emotions allow them to be manipulated and ultimately defeated in the long game.

Anakin was never so powerful as the emotional Vader, but his weakness wasn't his rage. It was his love, love for Padme and then later Luke, that led to his rash decisions and ultimately his downfall. The emperor was cast down because of his desperation. He foresaw both a victory and a defeat at Endor so he did everything to stack the odds in his favor and turn the last of the Jedi to his dark purpose. When he failed at both, he lashed out without considering Vader's own emotional state. Both of these mighty Sith would have reigned still, had they only reigned in their emotions. That is the paradox of the Dark Side though. If they had the willpower to reign in their own emotions, then they would not have had as much raw power.

Later, after watching the Force Awakens, it sort of cemented that concept. Kylo Ren was all sorts of emotional and had tons of raw power that needs focus.

Never got to play with that concept, but I figured that Dark Side users would be forced to take Berserk/Enraged of some sort and then take a Boost to all Force Powers until the Berserk recovered. I would also require some extra Psych Lims (or even DNPC) to represent their emotional weaknesses.

Would you be opposed to me compiling my templates with yours? I will share them all once I'm done.

Yeah, I have to admit I'm not crazy about the YV either (though 9/10 I prefer "Legends" to "Canon")

Course, you wouldn't want me, I'd keep wanting to go to Endor to hunt my favorite prey.  :eg:  (though you might not know my dedication to the hatred of the Ewok  )

Note:  I do have an old rule book from the 1990s, (I think it was the old West End, but I cant remember).  It has been a very long time since I've looked at it though, in one of my old boxes, and  I'm honestly not in a hurry for a cleanup operation.
